Hello first of all thank you for the great story. The lack of coverage on the possible return of an eventual hall of famer is insane. Im a Boston fan and i am extremely excited about the possibility of having a Three point shooter of his caliber join the team. Reggie is probably the most clutch player I have ever seen, including Jordan. I think the adition of a player like him could elevate us from an Eastern conference favorite to a League favorite.

From a Boston standpoint the return of Reggie Miller in a celtics uniform would just be incredible because it would continue to add to the idea that the Celtics are again relevant in a town that they used to dominate the sports coverage before the Red Sox and the recent rise of the Patriots. When I think about Reggie Miller in his playing days the only word that comes to mind is class. As much as I disliked Chuck Person, I always loved the way Reggie Miller went about his business with dignity and a quiet grace. Simply put he was and is an awesome person. In an NBA and sportsworld with the likes of Ron Artests and Michael Vicks in todays me first sports culture, Reggie Miller is the type of example that needs to be seen over and over again for the players and fans of tomorrow. I will respect whatever decision he makes because it is not easy. I do not think he would be a hypocrtie because at the time he made those statements about Karl Malone and Gary Payton his Pacers were still a good team. Hindsight being 20/20 maybe he could relate more. We experienced the same thing in Boston with our hoskey team when Ray Bourque our captain and leader for close to 18-19 years asked for a trade and left for the Colorado Avalanche and won a Stanley cup with them in his second year with them and retired. He brought the Cup to boston for his fans and always said he would be a boston bruin at heart. Reggie Miller will always be a pacer, just hope for one year he can be a pacer in a celtics uniform. Don't hate him for it. I rooted for Ray Bourque all the way and many bostonians bought Ray Bourques colorado jersey. This league needs more Reggie Millers so lets hope he comesback.

OK not to bash the Celtics or anything.
I just thought I would let you know that if Reggie comes back to the NBA in a celtics uniform, he would be at best third string shooting guard behind Ray Allen.

Secondly, the Red Sox may have a shot at the world series this season BUT THE PATHETIC PATRIOT PANZIES DYNASTY IS OVER, THEY WIN WAAAAYYYYYYY TOO MUCH AND NEED TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A TURN AT WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP LIKE THE COLTS OR THE CHARGERS, OR OHH HELL EVEN THE LIONS!!!!!!!!

And that reminds me of a dream I had last night. I know it's crazy, but I deamed an NFC team actually won the Super Bowl in 2008 at Arizona.

Appearantly I'm in the minority on this topic but I simply refuse to acknowledge the fact that Reggie Miller will play for anyone other than the Pacers.Old habits and traditions die hard in this state. What Reggie did for us actually transcended sports. He brought the entire community together to experience something that we never thought was possible, our lovable losers had finally become contenders. The feeling that came along with this is almost undescribable.People who never even cared about basketball had now become rabid fans, everywhere you went the Pacers had become the hot topic of conversation. All this came at a time when the state of Indiana really didn't have much to cheer about, sure we had our colleges that always did pretty well but we never had a professional sports team that had ever made their mark. Then along comes Reggie.Putting the state and our team in the national spotlight.Even with the Colts superbowl championship ,the Pacers rise from obscurity will always top this sports fans all-time feel great stories.Sometimes I believe the past should not be tampered with, this is one of those times.

hey, reggie go for it! if reggie can have a chance to win a ring i'm 100% behind him. miller was and still is a class act on and off the court, and if there was one player in the NBA that played as long as reggie did (and with the same team, which doesn't happen any more )and never won a ring i hope he signs with boston. i will be there rooting him on, and i haven't been a boston fan since Bird retired!

I attended the last 3 playoff at Conseco where 20,000+ screaming fans yelled Reggie, Reggie, Reggie! He was the only class act AND an exciting player to watch. He deserves a shot at a ring if he wants it and I will be rooting for him if he tries.
That's nice, but everyone was yelling REGGIE, REGGIE, REGGIE, because Reggie Jackson was there as a spectator, not for Miller.

It's called greed, MONEY MONEY, MONEY. Miller doesn't care who he plays for and neither does anyone else in sports, it MONEY. He would play for the Newark Nim Rods if he got the right money. PROFESSIONAL ATHLESTES ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!!!We are suckers for being fans.

Well I am split on the whole matter. In one case I am a loyal Reggie fan, yet also a loyal Pacer fan. I can't imagine him playing anywhere else, but it is ultimately his decision. I may not necessarily like him being on the Celtics, however I will still cheer HIM on....not the Celtics as a whole! Then again, he does deserve a ring more than anyone in my opinion! So whatever he decides, he will still be my guy and I will support him!!
Why are you loyal to a player who doesn't know what loyalty means. These athletes only know what money is, and that is all they are loyal to, MONEY. Hope I didn't ruin your day.

REGGIES CHANCES FOR A RING ENDED THAT DECEMBER NIGHT IN DETROIT. BLAME NOBODY BUT ARTEST. THAT WAS IT, THE SEASON WAS OVER AND REGGIE WAS NOW ASHAMED TO BE A PACER. HE LOVED THIS CITY AND MOST OF THIS CITY LOVED REGGIE. EVEN IF YOU WERENT A BASKETBALL FAN, YOU COULD STILL FIND A WAY TO LOVE REGGIE. I ALSO HAVE NOT WATCHED MANY PACER GAMES SINCE REGGIE LEFT THE GAME. CERTAINLY ONLY 1 OR 2 PACER GAMES. I GET FREE TICKETS ALL THE TIME, ALWAYS GIVEN AWAY TO FRIENDS/CO-WORKERS. AND THESE ARE CLUB LEVEL SEATS. I HAVE ZERO RESPECT FOR JERMAINE ONEAL OR JAMAL TINSLEY. BOTH ARE PUNKS CONTENT W/ COLLECTING PAYCHECKS AND NOT RINGS. REGGIE STUCK BY THIS TEAM WHEN IT WAS AT ITS WORST AND HAD A COUPLE OF CHANCES TO GET HIM HIS WELL DESERVED RING. I APPLAUD REGGIE FOR HIS DECISION TO GO TO BOSTON IF HER CHOOSES TO. IF NOT, IT DOESNT MATTER TO ME, REGGIE IS ALREADY A CHAMPION.

Come back Reggie!! I'll still remain a Pacer fan, but a new celtic fan. Reggie is coming back. All hints toward yes. I don't care what team, I just want to see him play again one last time. If he comes back it will be just for a year. I hope more.

I hope Reggie goes for it. Not only does Reg not owe Pacer's fans anything, we owe him for the last spark of integrity and hope the Pacers have seen. He is a class act and the Pacers' front office should have done all they could to get him a ring--he gave them his entire career--his heart, and even with his chances sinking, was still the inspiration for the horrible team we supplied to play on the floor with him. With Reggie on the Pacers, I never missed a game--last year, I watched a half game and couldn't bear to watch again. Go Reggie, with the blessings of all true fans. You will always be Mr. Pacer, no matter where you play. I, at least will be loyal to you and cheer any team you are part of.

My Miller jersey goes in the fireplace if he plays for the Celtics. As would at least 1/2 of the rest I'd be willing to bet.
And the Bentley SHOULD be returned if that happens.
sounds like a fair weather fan. my opinion is that reggie did his all for the fans in indianapolis. he came through many times for his team. and the idea of burning your pacer jersey because you don't want him to play elsewhere is redicules. I support the pacers but i also support reggie if and when he decides to play in another jersey. I'm saying i'd probley buy that jersey.

I think Kravitz is right. Reggie tried to make the beloved indiana pacers better, but the pacer franchise wouldn't actually back him up. Reggie doesn't owe anything, in fact the bentley wasn't enough. Though I would hate to see him in another uniform, he is free to go for that ring. He does deserve that much.
