Magic said it best, "what an embarrasement from the lakers, they needed to come out with the mentalitiy to put this team down for good and instead they lacked intensity, energy and effort" I for one, knew from tip off that this laker team was not ready. The way Fisher brought the ball up court, strolling and very lackadaisical, his pass to Odumb who in turn half assed a pass to Ariza(not a starter) who in turn half assed the reception ending in a dunk by Artest. Look I know kobe will be in the hall of fame someday, but I hope that people put to rest the comparisons between him and Jordan. Why couldn't Kobe give us an encore performance from Friday night? He played defense(blocking Yao twice) distributed the ball and made some difficult shots(bad shots although they did go in) I have come to the conclusion that Kobe does not have the typical leadership abilities, like Magic, Bird, Jordan, Isiah, even Barkley. He is more along the lines of Dr. J, Clyde the glide drexler and Joe Dumars. He is not a vocal leader and what's worst I think he sometimes tanks games to prove a point. And then of course there is PJ, this ain't the bulls or the 3peat lakers who both had plenty of leaders where you could afford not to call a time out during hard stretches like the beginning of the first quarter yesterday. We have a team with the best player, but no leaders. PJ should've called a time out after the Rockets went up 12 to 4 instead of waiting for a TV timeout by which time it was 17-4 with 5:45 left. By that time the damage was done and it would prove to be an insurmountable lead. As a coach you have to lite a fire under your players when they're not performing to standards. I think PJ is stuck with those bulls and 3 peat laker mentality.

Ha ha I love it how the Lakers and their fans/media are saying the Lakers didn't try. Face it, your team got their @$$ handed to them. Take out the top 3 Laker players and you got a team that probably couldn't even beat the Knicks. Unlike the Lakers, Houston isn't a one-man show.

You might wanna pray that Houston takes the series, or risk seeing Lebron SWEEP the court with Gasol Geico Caveman's-like hair.

No Diana, Shaq couldn't do it without Kobe or Wade and if you are a Cleveland fan, you can start celebrating now because it is obvious that the league wants Cleveland to win as they wanted Boston to win last year because the East hadn't won it in so long. The Laker won't win the West, with the help of the referees, because they know that the Lakers are the only team that can beat the CAV's. If you have watched the Cav's games during the playoffs it is like the Ref's have swallowed their whistles when it comes to Labron. He bowls people over and pushes people aside as he goes down the lane!!!It is so obvious!!!! The Lakers have always had to buck the officiating even when they won their titles, they have never gotten help from the ref's, just the opposite. And Kobe didn't go to the free throw line one time in that last game, And if you think that he went a whole game without being fouled, then you need new glasses and if you don't wear glasses you need to start!!! So you Cleveland fans can enjoy your championship because no matter who they play, it will be handed to them on a silver platter!!!

It's not that the Lakers didn't try. They just didn't play well enough. This will be a tough, fun series to watch. Lakers in seven.

What????!!!! Are you saying (USC) that the Fakers are getting no help from the refs. What games have you been watching? Poor Utah, it is really tough to go on the court 5 on 8.(3 refs). The refs are helping the Fakers, and I hope that the black lady ref doesn't ref a playoff for the Fakers cause she just loves FOBE Bryant to deaf. GET REAL.

Lol the Lakers are a great franchsie and if the refs want to help us, then so be it. Hell they help the Celtics also lol. Who cares about sorry no good franchises like the Rockets and Jazz.Also the black lady is a great ref.
