Carney, Jefferson, Love lift Wolves past nemesis Phoenix Suns

Full story: TwinCities.com

I think the greatest thing about this team and how they are playing is how enthusiastic they are and how supportive of each other. Each great play has the bench players jumping up and cheering. The chemistry seems to get better and better and the bench players are playing phenomenally. I like the fact that getting down by 10 doesn't bother them any more. They just keep playing - and you get the feeling they know they can make a run and have a chance to win.

Sure hope Mike M. can get it going one of these days. He seems to work so hard and does so many good things on the floor, it seems a shame that his shots aren't falling. He must be getting a bit frustrated.

Keep it up, Wolves! Pretty soon Target Center will be filled to the rafters again!

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't McHale the one who traded for all those guys (Jefferson, Foye, Love, Carney) and now he's the one coaching them to victory? I thought we were going to run McHale out of town?

It is all about confidence. The team didn't have any under control freak Randy Wittman, as they were always looking over their shoulders waiting to get yelled at. McHale has simplified things but also has a much easier personality to play for. He just lets guys play, and if they screw up, they screw up. You just move on to the next play.

McHale, for all the bashing that has occurred on these pages over the last several years, is a darn good coach. I think McHale is probably a better GM than people thought, and that it was mostly bad coaching that was killing this team. McHale "owns" these players and is proving that he knew what he was doing when he assembled this talent.

This team is fun to watch again as they are getting out and running. Foye sucked under Wittman, Love was continually frustrated, and Carney was stuck on the bench. Now they are three of our top four players. It is still early but this team has a chance to develop into a significant force over the next few years. I think they will need a legitimate center and an upgrade at the point in order to do so, but the opportunity is there with all the draft picks and cap space that we will have.

I see we have our usual brilliant post from Tiffany once again today.

I'm glad to see all of you McHale bashers suddenly realizing that the selections he made in the draft were fairly sound decisions; the coaching we had never brought out the best in these players. Most of these players are young, still need to learn, and need confidence while they're learning. This team looks to have a great nucleus for years to come. Remember, Love is only 20, Al is 24, Randy is about 23, and Telfair, Smith, and Gomes are all under 25. Get them playing together and this could be fun for a few years.

As for the guys who won't go to the games until McHale is fired...stay home. No one asked you to support this team.

They actually look like a competitive team out there. Telfair is doing a great job of controling the tempo as is Foye, but with the plethora of draft picks that will be at our disposal as well as the many PGs that will be available for this draft I can't seem that not taking a PG with one of their draft picks. It will be have to be one of our earlier picks because once Rubio, Curry, Holiday, Willie Warren, and Jeff Teague are gone you're left with future reserve PGs in Lawson, Mills, Collison, and Maynor. We definitely need some size up front too (SF, C), whether that be Earl Clark, Al Farouq Aminu, Austin Daye, Thabeet, Mullens, Aldrich, or Jerome Jordan. We're on a great roll and never looking back now. Success is finally here!

Its incredible! The T-wolves suck for 5+ years, make mistake after mistake judging talent, overpaying for mediocre players, trade whatever good draft picks they make for more losers, all under MdFail's leadership. Then they get lucky and actually win a couple games, only two of which are against winning teams, and all of a sudden McFail becomes this great coach and general manager. Come on people, get real. If the Wolves continue to improve and play winning basketball for the next couple of months, then, and only then, can there be any discussion that McFail is other than the losing joke of a GM he's shown himself to be for the past several years. You don't judge someone based on 5 or 6 games, its over the course of a season or two that they show what they do, or don't, have.

It is nice to see something positive written about McHacle by people out there, saying he did have the right pieces and it was just a matter of bad coaching, he was the answer all along. It was Wittman's fault! Does anybody remember who hired Coach Wittman? Yeah, that's right Coach McHale. It is great seeing the Wolves win though, to bad GM McHale didnt realize his hire of Coach Wittman was bad before the season started, if he would have hired himself earlier who know's? PLAYOFFS?.

hey tiffany lets see the better team doesn't always win the team that plays more like a team does. and the wolves shut down nash and held him to six point and something like six assists. teams like the suns overlook teams like the wolves even when they are on a hot streak which is why they will not win the championship and the celtics or lakers or magic will

the suns may be better right now but not for long and they might not even make the playoffs. it will be between them, dallas, and the rockets unless they get healthy. Look out for the blazers. and thank you memphis for hitting them up for 18 million plus luxury tax
