kobe plays with better athletes than MJ did so he is better plus who is any good on the lakers but kobe MJ had scotty pippen and steve kerr and a bunch of better players than kobe has on his team.

knobe won is not 'early in his career'. he is in his 13 or 14th year. He has 2 years left before his legs start to go. think before you speak |
|
it was a blast. In fact, it was shown on channel 9, the lakers had a 3o minute special on tv during the parade. Chick Hearn was the moderator, which i loved, because that was my nickname growing up. |

Better athletes, worse fundamentals. Kobe loses a stats battle, accolates battle, etc against. Don't forget Kobe had Shaq, which was a lot more dominant than Pippen ever was. The best perimeter player today (and probably the modern day Joe Dumars in terms of defense....not offense) is the unathletical Bruce Bowen. Steve Kerr, Tony Kukoch, etc....they were all role players, solid role players, but still. Kobe also had them in Horry, Fisher, etc... |
|
kobe has the best jump shot ever..obviously if he's putting up 50+ points..DUH!!!kobe led his team to the championship last year and they lost because of lamar's inconsistency and pau gasol was playing like a girl..kobe was 1st team offensive and defensive player last year.jordan was the best during his time because there were no lebrons, iversons, carmelos, dwight howards, t macs, gilbert arenass,etc..but kobe is the best in this league with all of these young and veteran stars...jordan would not have accomplished everything he accomplished in the league today...kobe is clutch offensively and defensively...and thats why kobe is better than jordan and everyone else to play the game of basketball..i will say this though...IF lebron james gets a jump shot he will be better than kobe AFTER kobe retires... |

No, Jordan just played again the Birds, Mutombos, Dumars, Rodmans, McHales, Parrish's, Dennis Johnson's, early Shaq/Penny's, Magic/Kareem's, Glen Rice, Barkely, Drexler, Hakeem, Ewing, Isiah's, etc... etc... today's players...more athletical, lesser fundamentals. Check back when they remake a new NBA Top 50 and see how many new guys are on there and how many of the old ones are still there You also have to consider the rule changes (there is a reason why the NBA made these changes...to make a more exciting product). Zone defense allows quick athletic wing players to get more open shots. With handchecking being illegal and a defensive 3-sec rule in place, it allows those athletic players uninpeeded movement to the basket. Kobe's PPG took off once the handchecking rules were banned. He's shut down against the best of defenses (04 Pistons, 08 Celts) and those teams can't match their counterparts from the mid 80's Pistons (Jordan rules) and Celts. Kobe doesn't have a better jump shot. MJ shot 51-52% inside the arc, Kobe---only 48-49% Jordan was better than about 70-80% of the league in today's game despite being 40 years old and playing on hobbled knees. I'm willing to bet a prime Jordan would put up similar numbers to his prime years. Remember he shot 54% in college in 3 years under a true zone (no defensive 3). |

Also realize that Jordan also has his share of 50+ and 60+ pt games like Kobe, however, Jordan does it a lot more often in the playoffs.
What separates the two dramatically (besides defense) is Jordan's ability to step his game up (or keep pace) in the playoffs regardless of competition. Kobe doesn't have that unless he's playing the Spurs |

Let me say this as a female that has followed both Mike J. and Kobe B.
Is Kobe better than Mike, they are both great. Kobe will tell you in a heart beat Mike is his idol. He follows him, his game and yes it shows. If you strive on a daily basis to be great and have the best example available to you, you would be a fool not to take advantage of that. But Kobe goes beyond that as well he brings his own greatness to the game. There will never be another Michael Jordan, but by no means ever sleep on the phenom the call KOBE MVP BRYANT. Mike went through a maturing process during his reign of greatness. Kobe is traveling the same path right before our eyes. It shows in everything he does on that court. They are both great, Mike in his time and now KOBE B., it's his time. GIVE HIM IS PROPS AND STOP HATING! |

No doubt Kobe is a top 15 player of all time, but guys in the Top 10 in my book, lead their team to at least 1 win (as in...win Finals MVP). Right now Kobe has about 2 prime years left to try and move up the GLOATS (L is for Laker) of all time, because guys like Wilt, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, James "Big Game" Worthy, Kareem, Shaq, and of course Magic.
Kobe said on Quit Frankly to let Jordan be Jordan and Kobe be Kobe (let comparisons stop). He said Jordan's the GOAT. Both went through the same learning curve through different methods. Jordan spent 3 years in college while Kobe, at the same time, was on the bench for LA. Both of them were starting roughly around the same age. Kobe is the best, most complete player in the league, today. |

TODAY,thats the key word and I can agree with you on that one. |

Kobe Bryant & Michael Jordan Are Two Combinations Of Greatness. Michael Jordan Is One Of The Greatest Players To Ever Play The Game. Kobe Bryant Is Also A Great Player, "Amazing Player".
Kobe Still Has A Long While In The NBA, So Until Kobe Retires Who Knows If Kobe Will Be Better Than Michael Jordan. |

I can't believe we are even having this discussion....kobe BRYANT????? a guy who has NEVER LED HIS TEAM TO A CHAMPIONSHIP...LOL...the 3 times he did it....WAS WHEN SHAQ RUNNED LA..."now kobe how does my ass taste" shaq....lol....come on....kobe better shooter than jordan!!!! how....jordan shot .497 for HIS CAREER...kobe will never do that...from 1987 to 1992...he shot over 50%...who the hell does that..not even kobe! jordan is the greatest to ever touch the rock...kobe will never make it!...the only thing the ONLY thing kobe might have on jordan..is better ball handling skills...but that jordan knew how to use his body..and made up for that!...defense back then was way tougher..u young bucks need to go look at some tapes...of jordan going against New York Defense...defenders hanging on his jersey..this nba is soft...and all you guys know it....it's just time...ppl forget jordan..their memory fades...and these young bucks don't know the game...yes players are more "athletic" now...but that doesn't mean they are better basketball players...like someone said b4 me..look at the 50 greatest player list...lol...look who jordan played against...bad boy pistons....johnson, bird's....you got to be out of your mind...to compare jordan to kobe...and jordan played with better players...kobe played with one of the most dominant centers ever..to get his rings...and jordan had pippen...no doubt...but how the hell does ne1 say jordan's team was better...kobe is a great player....never ever....EVER..will be jordan..and all the analyst...and ppl who know this game...say the same thing...

I like MICHAEL JORDAN better so his better

Watch tapes of Jordan vs the Bad Boy Pistons and New York Knicks (early to mid 90's) with the handchecking and the rough housing. The league has gone from being too rough to too soft. The things that the Pistons did to Jordan led to the "flagrant foul" rule. The Knicks would have their own version of the Jordan Rules, but more realistic to today's game compared to what the Pistons did. Even teams got away with "illegal D" on Jordan (which is now legal today under "Zone D") at times.

Kobe D#$%k riders are hilarious...The lakers lost because the Celtics were better. You dont lose a series in 6 games and lose one of those games by 39 points because one role player was "inconsistant" you lose cuz you arent as good. Kobe had Gasol too plus a solid cast of role players just like jordan had Pippen and a solid cast of role players... and WHERE WAS KOBE? when the lakers were getting destroyed by 39... he was on the bench just giving his teammates bad looks and shaking his head, he shot below 40% from the field and averaged like 5 turnovers per game now that is inconsistant. Jordan NEVER lost a series as bad as kobe did, even before he had pippen he was still keeping the TRASH teammates of his in every series |

kobe one of the best basketball players but who will forget the free throw line dunk that mj pulled off
|
|
Oh snaps, is that Jamario moon, Gerald Green, James white doing that crazy dunk? Oh its kobe? damn im just so used to seeing anybody with athleticism doing that, i cant believe that weakass alley oop is ur reasoning for kobe being better then MJ... embarrassing |

Nothing any Kobe homer can say to prove he's better than Mike.
