Wow, there's a lot of hate here for a team that's giving up their summer to represent the country. Anyways, so who would win in a best of 7? The Boston Celtics or the current US Team?

What about the international NBA players who represent their country in the Olympics? Are you going to boycott them too?
Yes I am! I haven't watched the olympics in years. The olympics were huge before 1980. With pro's playing - where's the excitement? Seeing a professional athlete holding up a medal intended for a amateur isn't worth watching. As for basketball in general, it's time to raise the hoop, pretty soon the shots won't have an arc - they'll be throwing the ball down into the net.
Corrupt refs, horrible calls (even worse - non calls - ala Jordan Rules)
It's like the pros play by different rules than kids do.

The AP reported that 'Phoneix's Amare Stoudamire' wouldn't play, I found that hilarious because he is on the Heat. But regardless, D. Wade will probably ride the bench on the Olympic team come in and get 10-12 points. Kobe is going to be going for team's throats after that Finals loss. Also, I hope the Bulls can manage a trade for Kobe again. We can do it, sign and trade Gordon, along with Hinrich, Nocioni, and Hughes. If they don't want Hinrich, give them the rights to Rose and take back Nocioni. It can be done Paxson, and then the year after Kobe arrives Phil will be out of his contract, just in time to replace Del Negro who did a good job getting us to the conference finals in Kobe's first year here. Listen to me Paxson!
I didn't see what was funny in the AP getting it right. You're thinking of Shawn Marion.

A Kobe trade to the Bulls can't and shouldn't happen now. Last offseason was the time to do it if it was meant to go down and IMO it is good that it didn't go down then.

Team s/b decent - just wish we had a couple more pure shooters in the mix. And J.O.S., I concur, where's KG?

I think this is an athletic and offensively-productive, but rather backcourt-heavy roster. I don't know about the level of frontcourt competition internationally, but I do figure big-man foul trouble applies to FIBA-style ball as it does here in the US.

I agree that the likes of KG would be good here.

Ummmmmm. We should listen to you? Amare Stoudamire doesn't play for the Heat. He is in fact, a Phoenix Sun.

I'm just upset that two people who worked really hard all their life for the olympics were bumped so that two highly over paid athletes can go play. If the amatuer had won or lost they would atleast have gratification in their lifes work. Kobe and lebron will just go back to their endorsement deals and scandals and huge fat paychecks with out a care in the world....
