I think Wade is openly lobbying for trading Marion for Odom....It makes sense....Odom is a creator and a rebounder and too unselfish...just perfect for Wade who is a great passer and a ball hog himself. Odom would love to create and pass off to Wade to get the glory. And Heat needs some 6'10 players not all these 6'7 guys. Wade, Odom, Beasley, Chalmer, Jones would fit like a glove. Wade the hog and the showboat with the big heart to take on the challenge of taking the big shot, Odom the rebounder, creator, defender, pass, and shoot, Chalmer as another creator and shooter, and Jones the ultimate space stretcher with 3 pointer. And they would be able to run or play half court as fit. And Beasley would be all around scorer. All the heat would need is a defender like Pistons had with Wallce who couldn't make a basket the size of Michigan Lake. Wade is better than any Piston, Beasley is better than Prince, maybe, jones can shoot, Odom would cancel out Rasheed with his offense, though Rasheed is a monster. Of course, Big Shot is better than Chalmers. Still, it wouldn't be outclassed too much. And heat has haslem, Cook, Wright, Blount. which is not a bad group. They just need identity. If they get Odom, all this team needs is a big guy, a big defender, and a veteran scorer off the bench. I would not worry about the point with Banks, Chalmers, and Wade, and Quinn as an insurance. Get Odom!

Love Odom but you say he is a defender? Come on now ...

but i'd take Odom over Marion any day of the week. Never should have sold our soul to the devil for the cancer that is shack.

Lue is doing us a big favor by not coming to the Heat. At his best he was barely OK, now he is washed up over the hill.

If we can get Odom for Marion, we must grab him. Like Riles I love a big man who can handle the ball. Also it would make having a true PG less of a problem. Wade, Odom, Chalmers & Beasley are all good ball handlers.Getting Odom sounds really exciting, the only missing piece would be getting back Mr. Clutch James Posey.

Jones is a very good pickup. He wants to be here, will work hard, and is an excellent teammate on and off the court. He fills a role (3-point shooter) that desperately needed to be filled. I also think his overall game will be much better than people expect. One last thing: he agreed to have his contract structured in such a way as to minimize its impact on our free agency moves in 2010. Team first player - yea mon!

DWade is right, deal the Matrix for Odom and everyone will be happy. Is $17.8 mil enough to cover LO and Chris Mihm?

the only tougher sell would be Shaq or Marbury.

the last thing the Lakers need is a guy like marion. they need a tough defensive minded forward.

Lo+ mihn for marion makes sense
for both teams I dont understand what are they waiting for. It makes the lakers better but it makes the heat a playoff team with wade/odom,beasley,mihn and james, and if it doesnt work out they could always go after a good free agent in 2009, and if the lakers win a championship MR. BUSS will give marion an extension he is looking for.

Jones is a mediocre player and he always well be till he retires so he is OK and im just going have to say it was a ok deal

Not really the Lakers could use Odom as well with Gasol and Bynum in the line up.

Odom is players that doesn't demands his shot and can work without the ball, now with Bynum, Pau and Kobe he doesn't need to be a 20 pts player.
But his rebounds and passing can be very useful and as 6'10 SF he could create all type of issues on D for the other SF the league.
