WOW I DID NOT REALIZE HOW MANY RACIST WERE STILL ALIVE IN THIS TIME TODAY. WHAT SHAQ SAID WAS NOT RACIST AT ALL LIKE SOME OF YOU ARE SAYING. HE SIMPLY SAID NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN HIM FOLLOWED UP BY NO WHITE GUY IS MORE N***A THAN HIM NO HOMELESS GUY WHO GOT MORE FIGURES THAN HIM. I DONT SEE HOW THAT IS RACIST TOWARDS ANYONE.HES JUST MAKING COMPARISONS TO PEOPLE WHO ARENT LIKE HIM. EVERYONE ON THIS PAGE IS OVER REACTING. YOU CANT COMPARE SHAQ'S COMMENTS TO THE COMMNTS OF DON IMUS THAT IS REDUNDANT AND MAKES NO SENSE. IM NOT A FAN OF SHAQ BY ANY MEANS BUT I DONT SEE THE HARM IN HIS FREESTYLE.

Where's the outrage?
Why haven't we heard from NBA commissioner David Stern on this one?
The defenses of musical and comedic expression don't fly.
it's not about race, between these two it is personal.
how can you equate this with don imus?

Wow, it only takes a few reads to get the pulse of the country. Still some deep rooted racism, still some deep rooted hate, still some ethnocentricity.

1st off the freestyle was definitely in poor taste. Realize that when you are in the public eye, a representive of the NBA which has a code of conduct, as well as the Sheriff department he has attached himself to there are higher consequences to your actions. He shouldn't have stepped on stage with that divisivness.

As far as his basketball skill you can't deny that he has been a dominant player. Like ALL players of sports, humans in general, youth and ability will escape you with age. It's disrespect to call him 'old'. We all get old, can't do the things we use to do physically. Shaq was a top notch NBA player period. Him and Kobe play 2 totally different positions, keep that in mind as well. Both players are great in there own right.

Their beef is silly and just shows the inability to settle differences in a civil manner. Let a lot of outside influences, he said, she said influence there relationship that could have been at least 2 more championships.

As far as the rappers/gangsta comment, this is what mainstream corporate America puts on the plate. There are many HIP-HOP lyricts with conscious lyrics, uplifting songs that don't see the light of day. I'm in the music industry and I see it constantly so I suggest before you comment do some research. Hip-Hop was spawned in the early 70's a response to community and gang violence. Now you have corporations such as clear channel, radio one, major distributors who push this crap to the american public. There is a another whole side to the music that doesn't put artists into the mold of rappers/gangsters. That's what's making money. A lack of understanding perpetuates comments without knowledge.

Shaq did it because he knows he can't compete on the same level on the court as Kobe anymore, he is too old...so he is trying to pull him off the court where he has a distinct advantage. I don't like Kobe or Shaq...and I don't listen to rap...for this very reason...most rap songs are meant to slam someone or a gender or the police....Why do I want to listen to that? I don't....so I don't.
IF YOU DONT LISTEN TO RAP OR CARE ABOUT KOBE OR SHAQ. WHY THE F**K ARE YOU EVEN COMMENTING? SEEMS 2 ME LIKE THIS DISCUSSION IS ABOVE AND BEYOND YOU....MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. OH AND ABOUT THE POLICE...F**K THOSE POWER INDUCED BADGE BULLYS. THEY SHOULD ALL BE SHOT.
