Just saying the Celts would have probably won regardless. LA winning in Boston......damn that hasn't happened in a very long time, and it doesn't seem to matter who the Lakers and Celtics have on the court.
And if Sammy is picking the Bucks, than I'm picking the Clippers ;)

Yeah I see what your saying, but I dont think its fair to say either way, I am a huge lakers fan but I wont say they would have won with bynum, but I dont think anyone should say the celtics would have won regardless cause honestly we just dont know, thats all im saying...Yeah sammy thinks the bucks are gonna make the playoffs, I say no way the east has got better and the bucks roster does not impress me a whole lot.

I guess but that team was referred to as the dream team II. The '96 squad was the dream team III. I'm thinking they should at least get consideration. In any case I think this whole comparison between the Redeem team and the original Dream team is kind of silly, because both teams could conceivably be better. The Dream Team had an old Bird and Magic, and this "Redeem" Team I don't think was the best team the US could have fielded. Either way I'm definitely staying up until past 2:30 to watch them play for the gold.

dave wrote: lets face it by the time kobe bryant retires he will beat mj in ever major statistical category all he needs is three more rings and with bynum healthy things are looking pretty good Every single major category????? Let's take a good look, and this is assuming Kobe still has 10 good (as in prime type) years left. Points...He'll need 10,613 more points over the next 10 years (13.18 PPG) to match MJ in total points. This should happen cause Kobe's current pace (25.0 PPG) will get him their in about 5 1/4 years). Steals...He'll need 1,192 steals, over the next 10 years (ave 1.472 SPG) to match MJ in total steals. At his current pace (1.40 SPG) he'll get their in about 10 1/2 years. Rebounds...He'll need 2,082 more rebounds, over the next 10 years (2.57 RPG) to match MJ. At his current pace (5.3 RPG) he'll match that mark in about 5 years. Assists...He'll need 1,631 more steals, over the next 10 years (2.01 APG) to match MJ. At his current pace (4.6 APG), he'll hit that mark in about 4 1/2 years. Blocks...He'll need 381 more blocks over the next 10 years (0.49 BPG) to match MJ. At his current pace (0.5 BPG), he'll hit that mark in about 9 1/2 years. More than likely he'll pass MJ in points and assists. Rebounds and steals is sort of a longshot. Regardless, he'll have been in the league longer than MJ by this time (even if his earlier years are thrown out because he didn't play as much in them as MJ did in his rookie years) And these are just for totals in these individual stats, Kobe will have to put up numbers higher than his career best the rest of his career (which may not be easy now that's he's 30) if he wants to pass MJ in PPG (30.1 to 25.0), RPG (6.3 to 5.3), SPG (2.35 to 1.53), and APG (5.3 to 4.6).

Man this time difference has been a killer. Also interesting to note that Canada's CBC channel has been showing these events live while NBC has been showing the same games on tape delay...hours later.
I believe the USA basketball team will bring home the gold!

Yeah a lot of people are gonna eat their words, many so called experts didnt think they would get to this point, some didnt even think they would medal shows what they know. Too fast, too strong, too athletic, and too much depth for them to lose, if for whatever reason they lose they did it to themselves, they are their own worst enemies.

We've already beaten Spain 119-82 earlier in pool play, granted this game will be a lot closer.

here's an interesting note about Michael Jordan, & a good trivia fact. in the 85-86 season, George "the Iceman" Gervin played on the Bulls that year. Michael Jordan missed most of the year, but they did play ass team mates when Jordan was there. i never knew that until i watched the 63 point game against Boston & noticed sure enough, the ice man was on the bulls. it was his last season
so, Michael actually played with someone better than Pippen (but not that season)
