Cavaliers are game for draft tonight

INDEPENDENCE: He's Danny Ferry, not Danny Ainge. And the general manager of the Cavaliers has no illusions of matching what his colleague did last summer.

MVP for Boston wasn't even on the floor, hasn't
been on floor for years...Kevin McHale was MVP in
NBA this past year, took care of his old buddy Ainge real well. I think Redd would really help
this team but I think he is quite weak at defensive end of floor..I like Baron Davis better
were it not for his almost annual injury problem...I do hope we keep "Boobie" .no matter what he needs more minutes and to stay healthy. he
is a smart kid and tht helps ..
Now, if "Coach" can manufacture some offensive plays I think we could improve even if "Danny" boy
does nothing but get Brown th do something with
his offense

Do the Cavs still need an outside shooter with Boobie ready to fill that need, personally I would like to see Elton Brand on the inside, dump Wallace & AV on the Clippers (Z stays because he can hit the mid-range,free throws & hits the O- Boards)...Cavs need more muscle & scoring on the interior....

Too bad O'neal went to Toronto for T.J. Ford. There's another two players that most likely won't be wearing the wine and gold this year. Ferry dropped the ball....again...on both of these players. T.J. Ford especially considering he'd be the perfect fit at the point as a guy who could assist like a mad man, AND score a few. I can only hope we can package Anderson Varejao, the 19th pick, and next years first round for Michael Redd before the draft starts tonight.

An #19 pick will not get them a championship. They need to trade it and somebody for a established veteran shooter like Redd. I hope Ferry makes it happen tonight. GO CAVS !!!

I say Brady Quinn will still be available at #19. But he'd still be glued to the bench for two seasons behind Varajao...

Another typical mismanaged team in cleveland. Surprise surprise. Another GM that thinks Cleveland should be happy with an almost got a championship in Cleveland. Dan Gilbert make him get the dang deal to bring another star to help Lebron. You GMS fall in love with potential and never pull the trigger on a real deal. If Danny Ferry wants to wait then fire him before we lose Lebron.

Forty years Cleveland fans have had to put up with gms like Danny Ferry, Mark, Shapiro, and Butch Davis... They all claim to have this blank check to get a player to help, but the ink never appears with the ownership's signature (Larry Dolan, the worst owner in Baseball). Fans wake up! Stop giving these guys money for creating a city of losers. It effects our cities self esteem as a whole. Dan Gilbert... Larry Dolan...Randy Lerner.... are you men making deals to keep our city teams losers. Cause none of you seem to care about our city winning it all. And you sportswriters, get off your chairs, stop being friendly and do your jobs, instead of playing footsie with management.... demand a championship trophy.... enough with the we almost did it mentality. IOts almost like Cleveland owners are rigging it for us to lose.

The Bulls have no use for Wally, they already have Hughes, Ben Gordon, and Sefalosha at the 2 guard.
McHale didn't give Garnett away, did you realize there were only 5 players that averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds this season, and Al Jefferson was one of them. I'd say Minnesota made out ok on that trade. Unfortunately the Cavs don't have a commodity to trade like Al Jefferson.

We do have a couple of commodities in expiring contracts. We could use Szerbiak ALONE along with a draft pick to probably get someone like Michael Redd, it's just a matter of whether or not we want to take that risk.

Commodities... Yes we have a few allow me to elaborate on the subject!!

Wally Szczerbiak
Sasha Pavlovic
And Maybe Anderson Varejao (good energy, even if he is a flopper)

Personally I would like to see Michael Redd(maybe another player too)for Wally Szczerbiak, Pavlovic and the #19 pick.

Would clear out money and make our team stout. Starting line up would be:

Z @ 5 spot
Wallace @ 4 spot
Lebron @ 3 spot
Redd @ 2 spot
West @ 1 spot

With Boobie, Varejao, Smith, Brown rotating.

Would be great going into next season... Either way Danny Ferry BETTER do something tonight...

I wish they would make a move for a guy like Redd, but if it costs us a future quality point guard like Daniel Gibson it is not worth it. I say they trade up and get Brandon Rush.

I am glad we did not get Jermaine O'Neal! He is so injury proned at this point in his career, and I do not see him developing back to where he was in his prime. I think if you are going to get a big man Roy Hibbert is it. 7'2" athletic, I have even heard talk of Ilgauskus and Hibbert in the starting five together. It would be like Duncan and Robinson of the Spurs. Anyway I say that if they really want a big man and not Brandon Rush, draft Hibbert, and then trade Varejo, Jones, and Szcerbiak for Michael Redd. Do NOT TRADE GIBSON!!!

Cavs, like most NBA players, are always game for draft, a shot, and a lap dance or two.

A most pathetic list of possible college draftees. Use front office energies to scout real talent overseas instead of da hood.

Danny Ferry likes this team? He must like losing and I'm sorry I don't think we should settle for almost beating the Celtics...it doesn't matter how close we were...we lost. This team is terrible, weak big men, inconsistent shooters, and an up and down bench. LeBron can't do everything by himself. He needs help, we can't expect him to do it all, our guys give the ball to LeBron behind the 3-point line...sure he has the skills of a point guard, but we need the ball in his hands in positions where he can score...not where he is trying to create all of our offensive possesions. We need a guard...maybe a big man, since Z is the weakest center in the NBA - give me a break - YOU ARE 7 feet whatever inches and you are trying to lay the ball in like a point guard - dunk the ball! Show some intensity - I don't want another 7 footer that can only shoot 18 footers and hit free throws (Kosta Koufas, OSU) that is weak...we need someone to get some boards and have a presence on both ends of the court. I think it is about time to get rid of Danny Ferry...what has he done? A "blockbuster trade" - alright! Wally Szerbiak (shooter?) and "Big" Ben Wallace - they were good, but way past their prime. Joe Smith and Delonte were terrific, the only positives to come out of that trade. I am sick of this cities teams - the ones that almost did it...took that team so far...almost beat Boston, almost made the playoffs, almost went to the world series...We live off of "there is always next year" and I can't stand it....we the fans who stand loyal to our teams deserve more...it is time that our GM's start shelling out some big bucks to bring some talent to this city.

If they draft a Hibbert or Kousta, then the Caves and Disco Danny are telling me that they are building for the future and feel that they must be ready for post Lebron in Cleveland.
Guys like that are no better than Lasagne Job!
Some day they may average 10 points and 8 rebounds a game. Are they better than Mel Turpin? Oden ate up Hibbert when OSU played Georgetown.
Danny, it's time for you to come up with your perfect storm. NO BS!!!
