As long as Lue can hit the 3's, Orlando should be ok. I don't see 60 wins anymore though.

They are a lock for 60 wins. I think they'd only have to go 23-13 the rest of the way. 20 of those games are against sub .500 teams.

LOL WTF happened to all of yesterdays comments?

I don't understand this trade. Orlando is where they are because finally they are playing defense almost as much as offense. They have shooters that have played out of position before. But giving up Bogan's is a bad idea.

The only new thing they posted in that article was the fact that Ray Allen will replace JAM at the All-Star game. I still don't understand why all of the comments from yesterday were erased or were they moved?
And that's too bad for you Cleveland fans, your boy Mo was still passed up!! |

I Guess Arroyo said no :( hope this trade works out!! they should have gotten j.j.barea from dallas, the magic will be fine .
I don't think we wanted to buy out Carlos's contract and I doubt that Barea was on the table. He is the only back up to JKidd. Terry is playing the 6th man role this year so... |

Was wondering how much we would miss hs defense, because it didn't seem like Keith got much pt this year. I was surprised to see (at NBA.com ) Bogans was getting 21+ minutes per game this season. Really?

Guys Bogans won't be missed. Although it's sad to see him go. He's journeyman SG just like Lue is journeyman PG. And we needed a PG. We still have Pietrus, Lee, and Redick. Bogans played average defense, he can't dribble, can't finish around the hoop, and hit the 3 every once in awhile.
No one is really question the fact that we gave Bogans away, shoot some people are probably glad. The question is, is the choice and caliber of the man we got in return. |

I hate to say this, but I have given up on this season. It would've been difficult for us to get by Boston/Cleveland with Jameer. Without him, I don't think they stand a chance. Jameer is our toughest player. He is not afraid to mix it up a little on the court, and he is our most clutch player. How many timely baskets has he made for us this year? He was also one of the few players who could create his own shot on a consistent basis. Also, his penetrating abilities created a lot of offense for himself and others. I will admit that he was a bit of a liability on defense, but that gets even worse with Johnson, who doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with point guards. We'll get to the playoffs, but we'll be lucky to get past the 1st round, let alone the 2nd round.

Id be happy if they use the rotation they used last game for the rest of the season. Use Lue in emergencies or if someone gets in foul trouble.
Given up?? Wow... Lakers lost Bynum last year and still made the finals. Jameer still doesn't play good perimeter D. We'll miss him but it's the rest of the team that now needs to step up their game. Lee has been fantastic, Turk can run the point in a pinch... All is not lost |
I disagree. There is a reason why the magic got Pietrus this season (and Mo last season for that matter)... Bogans was letting opposing shooting guards and opposing journeymen have career nights. This season with Pietrus (when healthy), the improved play of Reddick and the rookie Lee especially the gap in the scoring with opposing shooting guards is starting to close. At this point the magic needed a point guard. I would have preferred myself that the magic go out and try to get OKC guard Earl Watson as the backup point guard (potential starter since Nelson is out?) but obviously this is not an ideal world and I think that the magic did ok considering the circumstances. Lue can handle the ball... minimal turnovers, and defend opposing point guards. The magic in the past have done a lot worse! |
Finally someone else who understands. Nelson will be missed, no doubt. But I kinda like Johnson starting, it allows him to get into the game more. It's alot harder for a 34 year old to come off the bench and get into the flow of the game. With Johnson our there starting he can actually get into a rhythm with the other guys and set up the offense. No he's not flashy of course. But he'll run the offense and can hit the 3. We still have scoring with Howard, Rashard, and Turk, and Pietrus and Lee at times. Guys relax, we'll be okay. Plus Johnson plays better perimeter D than Nelson. P.S. This is same crap as last year, everytime Otis makes a move, the floodgates with posters coming out of nowhere stating how dumb Otis is blah blah blah. Where are you guys when we were winning. You guys have no idea what the GM is doing and are constantly coming up with those fantasy trade ideas.... GET LOST ALREADY!!! |
This isn't a bad trade at all. And people giving up on the Magic 'cause of Nelson's injury are just poor fans and drama queens.
Aron, I'm sorry man, but if you ask me Lue is a better player than Bogans? At least Lue has been to the finals and played for a championship team. What has Bogans ever done? |
This wasn't a surprise to me. Bogan's minutes got slashed ever since Lee and Reddick started playing well. Even when Pietrus was out, Bogans didn't do that well, not least not the way he played last season.

Career Avg Assists = 4.5pg
Career Avg Points = 12.4pg. This is Jameers production from is first day till currently. Hardly a PG that is destined to lead the Magic to a Title. Heck at AJ's rate he will pass Jameer in about 8 more games. Kinda like Hedo, 9 years in the league, one year of accomplishment. Lee needs to be PG. |
I like Watson too, but his salary was too much to do a one on one trade. I guess they could have thrown in Cook, but I think Lue fits in with what we do. Still, our best lineup to me is Lee and Pietrus in the BC with Turk running the point. I think we can still go far with that lineup. Start Johnson, but finish games with that lineup. |
