Put Tinsley in rehab. He is a great player, just a bit lost. If we are stuck with him, we might as well fix him so he can contribute to winning instead of losing.
I doubt Tinsley punched anyone, but whatever happened, judgement/trial has to be taken care of before the season starts. |

Shooters were the main priority. What about perimeter Defense? The Pacers messed up and lost out on Morris Almond during the draft. Larry counters by saying he has free agents targeted. Kopono-whom I'm glad we missed out on-immediately signs with Toronto. Kareem Rush doesn't do much for me. What about Eddie Jones, Morris Peterson, or Charlie Bell???

REBUILD!!!!!!! Bird's goal is to get the team back in the playoffs. The fans don't give a rat's ass about just MAKING the playoffs. They want a team that's going to have a shot at the title. After all the pain and suffering the Pacer Nation has been through the past several years, does he really think the fans are going to get excited and come back for a team that get's bounced in the first round? I don't think so. REBUILD!!!!!
(Oh, and get rid of Tinsley.) |

....of the continued stupidity. Nobody wants to sign with a loser. It's beyond any real hope as long as Bird is around. These other GM's are making him look silly. The Pacers will be the worst NBA team next year. Good job Larry.

You want to look back to last season and see why a Matt Carroll or someone like him would be a good fit for the Pacers. He did well with Charlotte against defensive teams like the Pacers.
They have many good pieces in place. Good outside shooting presence will help this team immensely along with the improved defense Dick Harter will bring. This team may not at the championship level, but they are much better than people give them credit. Give them a chance. |

Kareem Rush. Hmmm. Not good enough to stay in the NBA last season. FGA in the 30+% range. Don't we have enough players who can shoot at that less than impressive average? I thought we were looking for a SHOOTER. While Larry Bird is my all time favorite player, I'm sad to say I think he's out of his element in this current role. I see nothing in his management history so far that gives me hope he will turn water into wine. Wish I could feel differently.

We will end up with a second rate shooter. None of the good ones will want to come to the Pacers. First of all, we can't afford to pay them enough and, second of all, we are looked on as losers. I kind of agree with the poster that said to work with what we have to make our team better. Maybe the new coach can do something with our present bunch of players.

This just in: Larry Bird has traded the Pacers' mid-level exception for some magic beans. "Them beans shore looked magical," the team president reportedly was heard to mention of the deal. "I'm-a gonna plant 'em and climb into the clouds and a'get me a shooter! Yee-haw!"

Larry Bird makes Isiah Thomas look like Joe Dumars.

That is hilarious! |

Why would u hire a new coach that is unable to coach anybody on your team? Bird has to completely remake this team in order to gain shooters. If matt carroll really makes our team better, we are worst off then i thought.

All talk, NO action, PATHETIC!!!

If you plant the beans in Europe, and return in a few years, they will grow into back-up centers. |

What a headline!

The title of this article is hilarious. Pacers search for shooter. For a team struggling with its image of thuginess and late-night strip club/fight/firearms issues to be looking for more shooters cracks me up.

Shooters and fist fighters - I thought the Pacers were moving AWAY from the old days.

the pacers need to get kareem rush?

We'll get Rush. We like to take on "projects."

Boston has turned out some of the worst GMs in the history of the NBA. McHale has waisted the career of one of the best talents to ever enter the league in Garnett. Danny Ainge has turned the NBA's most storied franchise into a place where nobody wants to play. And Bird has turned the Pacers into a laughing stock. If any of these 3 were running Lawrence North a few years ago Oden and Conley would probably be sitting on the bench at DePauw or IUPUI instead of being high lottery picks.

well if they sign Matt carroll i guess contender status is within reach.
What a disaster. Bird absolutley sucks |
