It's close, but it's still loss

Same two teams. Different venue. Same results. The good news for the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night was that they didn't look as bad as they did the night before against the Detroit Pistons.

Along with our typical late 4th quarter offensive choke, we also displayed our ability to not understand weak-side defense.
Well all you Tinsley haters will get your wish, he's out the next 6-8 games do to injury. Based on your postings I'd expect us to go atleast 5-3....... ya right.

I know the Suns haven’t won a title but they've been there more than the Pacers. The Pacers need more energy and speed. They look flat and lack the killer instinct.
As for this game another loss brining them below .500. Could someone please inform the front office their team sucks and needs help?

4 free points go to detroit due to technical fouls....kareem misses two free throws....and marquis misses free throws....there's some points we shouldve had and they shouldnt have had.

"Lack the killer instinct"???? Are you kidding? Check the police reports the past three years. But don't despair, we are still 7th in the East. Finals, here we come.

Well, after this weekend it's apparent where they are at this point in the season. Much improvement is needed. They had improved a lot in the last month coming into the last 3 games however. So, looking forward I expect them to begin to show more signs of improvement.

I hope one our point guards (Owens or Diener) steps up and fills in for Tinsley. I love Daniels game. However he's not a point guard. His game is best catching the ball and initiating the pick and roll.

I agree with Rasta j regarding Foster's playing time. He needs AT LEAST 20 minutes/game.

I'd like to also point out that Dunleavy needs to get more shots. He only had 8 attempts in 30+ minutes. This season has shown that when he gets ~ 15 shots/game in this offense then good things happen.

I agree 100%. Maybe the most overapaid player in the NBA. The longer Bird waits to make a deal, his stock drops. Nice job, Larry.

Foster doesn't play because he's a white boy and JO don't like him. Foster plays when JO is hurt. This team I say again needs to be dismantled and start over with Foster and build from there.

O'Neal's line:
LAST NIGHT: 20 points, made all his free throws (6), 11 boards, 2 blocks, a steal and 5 assists.

FRIDAY NIGHT: 25 points, made 9 of 12 free throws, 6 boards, 3 blocks and 4 assists.

O'Neal is not the problem. When healthy he's the best player on both ends. He just needs a little help.

With Tinsley out we appear to be better, at least there was some defense, as opposed to the disaster in Detroit where we allowed 40 points in the second quarter. Still there is a long way to go with this team.

Defensive breakdown are why we are fouling to make them 'earn it at the line', and we had lots of that early in this game too. Lack of focus, missing easy layups and foul shots are items easy to point to in this loss. Excuse me, but if you paid me more than a million dollars a year I think I could figure out how to learn to hit foul shots. JO standing around and waiting for the ball, no movement and cutting in the lane.... These is just examples of the lack of desire and professionalism that this team has in spades...

It's going to be a long season, but it would be a lot better without Tinsley...

Is this why we seem to win more when he's on the bench? If you look the stats over our winning % is higher when he's on the bench than playing.

I don't want to keep anyone except Foster.... the designated White boy!

The Pacers played the Pistons very tough. If they made 2 or 3 shots during the 4 minute drought in the 4th the game would have a different outcome. You can't fault the Pacers effort. I wonder if they play with that kind of intensity often. I and other Piston fans were quite worried during the forth quarter. Both teams played smothering defense in the 4th. The Pistons made a few more clutch shots, that was the game.

the pacers are not going to the playoffs.i like owens better than tinsley because at least this guy plays decent defense and can shoot. when tinsley plays, the game is slower, they keep saying that he likes to play up tempo, but most of the time he spends time posting somebody up and wasting time with jermaine. trade tinsley, murphy and jermaine and leave diogu, foster, danny williams and dunleavy and start from there. the pacers need somebody like maguette, he can play good defense and can shoot well. please bird do something before is to late.

We will overcome this losing streak. Detroit is on a new level of play that even Boston and San Antonio cannot even beat. We played as good as we could against them. I was very Surprise how dominant Pistons Bench is. It was my first time watching Maxiwell. It seemed the was pushing everybody around on both sides of the court. Also I notice this Stuckey. Who in the hell is this guy? It seems like he had the super speed of a Earl Boykins and the magic moves and fakes like a Barry Sanders or Devin Hester. This reminds me of the three headed monster of the Bad Boy era. Dumars, Thomas, and Vinnie Johnson. If that is the case with the new Trio Billips, Hamilition and this Stuckey, Pistons will easily win the championship.

I noticed Stuckey also. He does seem fast and fast hands to steal the ball. Reminds me of a Nate McMillian but faster

The Pacers played as well as they are capable of playing. They proved that they can not compete with the elite teams in the league. Injuries had nothing to do with the losses. This team is ALWAYS injured. This team is as good as it is going to get and that is not very good. Even when they play well one night you know that they will lay an egg the next night. This current roster has proved it is not a contender and never will be. It is time to blow it up and start over. At least with some new players fans would have a reason for hope and the team would have the potential to get better.

I agree with "time to start over" they are as good as they can be. they need to get rid of jermaine get some draft picks and maybe a good player and start also get rid of tinsley at the same time. they could get Ben gordon, nocioni and round pick from chicago. the pacers starters could be ben gordon, danny, ike, foster and williams. they can still get some other players from dunleavy, murphy and tinsley plus draft picks and say hello to the other gordon from IU
