Zach, Rush sat out 3 summer league games, no big deal. Isn't it also kind of hard to blame Bender on Larry Bird. I blame it on nature...Bender got hurt.

Rush playing in the summer league at all surprised me, he is guaranteed to make the team and is in shape. I see Rush as capable of playing 20 minutes a night and dropping in 10-12 points with some hot moments along the way. He will mix well with JO and Granger.

Its scary to say this, but the Pacers need Tinsley to perform at his best level.

Nice to see its the same old pacers in summer league " inconsistent " I know this is only summer league and this really means nothing. But Lester Conners seems to accept the fact and excuse the inconsistencies.

Change players and coaches but its amazing that the same attitute remains.

Well, I have a feeling that the 3-2 record is better than the Pacers will have during the regular season.

All the cries of what other teams are doing shows just how crazy salaries in the NBA have gotten.
Darko gets $7 mil a season, Mo Williams (had one strong year) makes Tinsley's contract look much more manageable.
Signing players such as Rush, Stewart and Owens makes lots of sense. Each year there are NBA players that have bounced around and finally, find a home with a team and turn into good players...and excellent bargains.
The NY Knicks have proven that spending money doesn't necessarily make you a playoff team.
And most everyone is in an uproar when this team at one time last year was 29-24.
Getting a good backup point guard is essential as well as some help inside, preferably at center. A center such as Brandon Haywood (salaries close to Jeff Foster) might be in order.
We need a big banger, not just a power forward playing out of position. If we are going with JO and Troy Murphy inside, then we can live with that.
Jim O'Brien's style of coaching will bring out the best in the Pacers next season...and fans will like it.
Rick Carlisle's deliberate slow down style just didn't work.
The chemistry will improve and players such as Murphy, Ike Diogu and Dunleavy will prove this trade did make sense.
A healthy Marquis Daniels and Tinsley being coached and allowed to show his skills can make this a good playoff team.
It takes more than two to win a championship. The Spurs always have had a strong supporting cast. Good shooters, point guard, depth off the bench, etc.
Maybe a JO trade still is in the works but the basic nucleus of this Pacer team is better than what folks give you credit for.
The contracts signed by free agents this offseason will cripple some teams (ala Orlando)in the years to come.
Stay the course, be patient. Walsh is still one of the master traders in the NBA.
Harrington didn't turn out to be the inside presence the Pacers thought they had...or needed.
But Ike Diogu has displayed signs of really turning into a good inside presence. Murphy has been a 15-10 guy and Dunleavy gives you size advantage and still able to pick up some rebounds. This club can and will surprise.
That's why Jim O'Brien is the coach.
Time will tell.

williams is the second coming according to this paper already sitting with injury should fit in well with o neal and tinsley

I hope you're right about this; however, I think the article states that Bird now has complete control of basketball operations. So Walsh the master trader can't help us much anymore. I'd be interested, though, to see which legitimate stars become free agents a few years down the road. We should have some cap space by then, as long as we don't sign role players to long-term big money contracts like some other teams have done.
