Hey Ogg.....when I first heard the trade rumors last night, I hoped that a deal could get done before the Suns came to their senses. I will forever appreciate what Shaq accomplished in that '06 season, but trading him is the only way the Heat can begin improving their fortunes.

its a personal thing. hes not the prize anymore here. his trolling of south beach in the wee hours is starting to be an old story. hes too old for that behavior. just ask the wonderful woman who had 5 or 6 kids with him.(i dont know her but feel for her and the way he tried to publicly destroy her.) hes no prize. were better off with someone who doesnt sit out half the year with a broken nail or whatever. when he left l.a. he left his player behind.

I personally think its a bad move. I think this will set the team back further. A Healthy Shaq is still the dominant big man of the NBA. This hip thing will pass and things will turn around.

I didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to trade for Shaq at this point. Best thing that could happen for the Heat and Shaq too. Maybe this will get him going again.

Good deal to get Shaq out of town. It's too bad Marion will not stick around. Bad deal for the Suns who will only hurt their team that thrives on fast pace offense and Nash dishing the ball off.

Are you kidding, the Suns about to get fleeced?!?! You honestly think Shaq has been trying in Miami this season???? Get Shaq out to the Desert and I gurantee he will find the fountain of youth, and have the Suns contending for a title!!!

What sucks for the Heat is what are they going to have to show for this trade when Shawn Marion declines his player option next season and goes to a contender????

Nice point - he was invaluable during that time, and I'm glad he was here then. Today however.....

The Heat would have traded Shaq for nothing if they could have to get his $40 million off the books. Getting Marion back for a test run for the rest of the season is great. If he can gel with Wade over the next 2 months, the Heat will offer him a long term deal. If Marion balks, the Heat have $18 million more to play with this summer. What a great deal by Riles.

Your gurantee is noted. I'm just curous as to why Shaq was so content with a 9-whatever record. You really think he was sandbagging in the hope of holding out for what? The playoffs? Puuuuhlease.
And as far as Marion leaving after this season. Fine. More cap room. The Heat needs to rebuild anyway.

Sounds like they want him in Phoenix. That's fine by me...Evidentally they don't watch any Heat games.

They think he can help with rebounding, LOL...They think he can help with one on one defense, LOL (when he's not fouling out)..

Thanks Shaq for the 06 season...What a great year!!!
