HICKS: Rodman doesn't belong in Hall of Fame
#1 Apr 6, 2011
clearly you never really watched him or don't really have an idea what professional basketball is all about.
yes personally he was a total human train wreck, but as jordan said as the end of the season of second threepeat, "Dennis is the MVP of this team."
There is no more taxing achievement in sports than the offensive rebound. he was tireless and driven. the ultimate role player, who scored as a rookie, but let the glory go to others in his later career.
defensively he totally frustrated Shaq and Karl Malone in his years with the bulls.

"It's supposed to recognize contributors to the game of basketball, men and women players, referees, coaches, owners, media, college and professional, even international."
And he was quite the contributor. In more ways than what he did on the court. He's a sizable personality in the annals of NBA history. And he brought attention, good and bad, to the NBA and kept people interested and glued to the tv screen. I think if a referee can make it in the HOF, then a basketball star of Rodman's caliber should easily be entered. The problem it seems is with the induction criteria, and not Rodman.

To have any referee, media personality or anybody get in the HOF before Rodman would just be horrible. If he doesn't deserve it then non eof them did. He contributed alot to the game of basketball. He was one of the best rebounders (top 5) the game has ever seen thusfar. His numbers may not have him high, but his impact on the game does. I have never seen anyone guard Shaq, Barkley, Malone and countless other bigs the way Rodman did. he's was the blueprint for groundlevel rebounders like Ben Wallace, Kevin Love Jason Williams and others. I have never seen any kids or teenager wanna watch a game because of a ref or a broadcaster, but many wanted to do what they seen Rodman do!

Hicks you suck and should keep your mouth shut Dennis is a multi time NBA champion and very much deserves to be in the NBA Hall Of Fame, We may not like his off the floor behavior but his on floor performance was outstanding,
He backed up and play very well with Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls so suck it up and allow the man to enjoy his induction, In simple words Kiss his ass......

Hicks? If this is the case lets go back to all sports HOF's and kick out all of the drunks, womanizers and weirdo's! I personally didnt like Rodaman but he was one hell of a player deserving the HOF! You are pathetic!

Nobody loves reading Hicks more than me. I love the guy and totally agree with him on many matters. However, on this one, I could not disagree with Larry more. Why is it ok to favor Pete Rose getting in the hall for baseball and not be be judged by his baseball betting, yet oppose Rodman simply because of his off court actions.
During his time, on the court, his record shows he was not one of the best, but was in fact, the very best.
If you don't think he should be in the hall, then the hall should be destroyed period.

"Sure, he was a heck of a rebounder -- led the league seven times, I think" are you sure you know anything about the game of basketball?...
