Beasley hits right notes in Heat debut

When was Miami Heat basketball this much fun? Probably the last time the Heat actually tried to win a game.

Damn, Rose looked like a 12 yr old compared to Beasley....you can clearly see the difference in confidence between these two. I can't wait to see what Beasley can do with Wade and Marion in his lineup...SCARY!!!

Basketball is supposed to be fun, all right. But your calculation of the time when it stopped being fun is all wrong; it hasn't really been fun in Miami for years, as the Riley regime stuck to its old-slow formula while much of the rest of the league was moving forward, and having a good time doing it. We can only hope that Riley's disciple, Spoelstra, listens to what you, the world and certainly the Heat fans are calling for.

Of course Michael Beasley was more than a match for Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas in summer league. Would anyone expect otherwise?

Not exactly stellar competition.

I am happy we got the second pick instead of the #1, we might have had to pick Rose. Rose is going to be great, but, I think we might have an even greater player. This kid is going to be exceptional!!

...I think you should stick to what you know about, what ever that is. What Heat fans want is winning championships....nothing else!!It is not a coincidence that only a few coaches in the NBA has won a champioship. Look at that fool Larry Brown, coaching for almost 30 years only won one!! Riley, how many?

Thanks for the great story, Ira. Instead of looking at Beasley's love of life and basketball as a sign of immaturity, we should all wish to be so full of confidence and joy....and be great at what we do for a living, and be appropriately compensated!

I watched most of the scrimage, and I must say Beaz looked like he was still in college. He was relaxed and confident, never minding that Riles, Rivers, or whomever was watching him. Rose, on the other hand, had this wide-eyed look on his face, a bit nervous. bottom line both players are going to be very good NBA players. Can't wait for the season to start.

"It's basketball," Beasley said, "you're supposed to have fun."

I hope no one takes that from him - It'll be a real shame.

NO ONE IS MENTIONING THAT CHALMERS BALLED ROSE UP JUST LIKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Chalmers will be the starting pg soon enough.

Why not right away? Or when the season starts? Who do we have that is better after a 67 loss season?
