Rough road to playoffs for limping Pacers

Remember Dallas in their bad years. One or two good drafts and away you go. The Pacers have never really been a serious condender...even though we've had some good years. It's time for our (draft) luck to change. Maybe the lottery will come our way this year. Oden and Durant may not be the answer we need either. Make due with what we have and supplement it with a top round draft...and watch us rebound.

the pacers have no credibility. their coach has no control, their players are weak, they have punks and hoods on the floor every night. If the team is going to be weak at least have respectable players on the floor. want to gain fan support back? put a team on the floor that can stay out of the court rooms for a start.

The people that post on this article have no clue as to what to do to fix the Pacer's problem. I still turn the Pacers on because they are OUR team. The last 4 minutes of the game last night were hard to watch because they had stayed with the Rockets up till then. I really get tired of reading all the negative comments. I know we aren't winning, but firing everyone and starting over with Foster and Granger would not improve our winning percentage.

Just because someone is good in the community and not a problem does not make them a superstar or franchise player. I told you that the Twolves are trying to deal Garnett, and he is leaps and bounds above JO. Harrington was better than JO but Carlisle and Bird are foolish enough to think that JO is a superstar. The team can't run because he and Carlisle like to slow it down. He is the new Chris Webber. His body is to fragile to play with a big man game which only leaves 15 foot jump shots. Wake up sir |

The only question now is: "Can the Pacers land a 1 > 10 lottery pick or does their pick go to Atlanta"??
Why, on earth, did they make the Harrington deal, to later trade him for a couple of "overpaid softies"??? It appears that the moronic Kevin McHale and Billy Knight now have competition for "worst GM in the NBA"!!!! |

THE PACERS NEED TO FIND A NEW COACH FOR NEXT SEASON.
|
|
|
If you take an objective look at the Pacers this season, there are some obvious factors that can be seen and must be taken into account before all this talk of firing everybody.
1.Jermaine has not been healthy for most of the season. Having him try to play for the rest of it will not help him or the team get healthier. Have O'Neal sit out the rest of the season. 2. The team wins when Tinsley concentrates on assists and not points, and the opposite is true in losses.Everyone else gets to score frequently when he is a giver. 3. A mid-season trade can produce a lot of chemistry problems that probably won't be solved during the rest of the season. 4. Whatever strategy the coaching staff is using to win games is not working. Either the strategy needs to change (and really change) or the Pacers need to find someone who can bring changes. 5. The team needs a leader. O'Neal is not it. Armstrong is the best candidate, but not a starter. The leader's presence on the court is the factor. 6. The Pacers need someone in the organization who is not afraid to kick some butts. Period. This is a lot to try to solve in the remaining games. Let's see what the other players who get little time on the court can do, then start regrouping for the draft. |

I agree. And furthermore, if you guys hate the team and they suck so much, why do you waste your time watching them or take the time to write on this post (every day by the way)? Why do you care??? Pick another team and go. Who needs you? The Pacers will rebound from this fiasco that has been in the making for the past three years and they don't need "fans" like you around. Good riddance. Adios. See ya!!! |

Ping pong balls! Ping pong balls!
No true Pacer fan wants this team to make the playoffs. That would be a disaster. |

At least we can live off the Colts Superbowl win for a year!
Pacers? Who cares. Reggie - where are you when we need you? |

How is the Murphy and Dunleavy trade working out for you guys. Dunleavy will score 25 pts, once every three weeks, and Murphy will get a double/double once every 2 weeks. Murphy is a power forward, the only problem he has is he has no power. Dunleavy is a shooting guard, the only issue with him is that he can't shoot.

The Pacers played a very good game with the Rockets last night. It was by far the best effort I've seen from this team in over a month and it was a shame to see them lose. Two things are obvious about this Pacers' team. 1) They HAVE to get a true center. Jermain O'Neal is a 4 not a 5 and he's getting killed underneath against the bigger front courts. 2)They need to shoot better from the outside. Sounds very simple, but this team is a horrible outside shooting team and other teams don't respect our outside shot. This makes dribble penetration tougher and it allows teams to zone up on us and deny entry into O'Neal in the post and double team him when he does get the ball. This problem is compounded when our point guard decides it's better to pull up on fast breaks and shoot a 10 to 15 footer off the back of the rim instead of penetrating or setting up the offense.
I know everyone wants to crucify Carlisle, and he will most likely take the ax at teh end of the season. But the Pacers got to where they are know because of bad players, bad trades/drafts, bad coaching. It's truely been an organizational effort, folks. And it won't get better overnight or by mearly firing the coach. The sooner this organization stops deceiving the fans and admits it's in rebuilding mode, the sooner we can all settle down and relax a couple of seasons with lowered expectations and renewed hope for the future. |

True blue for life, what a joke
This team called the pacers being in Indy for 30 years and have not show us anything yet. What pisses me off is that they want to take credit for the championship that the beloved ABA won for the city and it was not these over payed kids trying to act like men. Nba basketball has lost all it meaning with kids that has not grow up to this days

Well first off they need all the fans they can get at this time. And, if a true fan sees a bunch of overpaid players not doing their job, they have the right to gripe and complain. Hell, it cost you a mint if you go to a game and buy anything. So excuse me for wanting a quality product for the $100 dollars i just spent for me and my son to see a game. Lets here your thoughts 3 more rough years down the road, see if your still all high and mighty on your Pacers. |

Donnie's not the problem. Ever since Bird came on as Donnie's Prodegy this franchise has slow burned and now it's a total disaster.
After the brawl, he was arrogant enough to think he change Artest for the better. That blew up. This past draft isn't looking so hot. When Al was very tradable, he deals him for Jackson, then he gives up a first rounder and the trade exception to get him back. He ends by trading both for Murphy and Dunleavy. He trades for Daniels and his buddy Carlisle won't play him and then he gets hurt. CAN HE DO ANYTHING RIGHT?? I can't believe I'm saying this but please keep losing so we have a chance at Oden or Durrant. |
|
|
Chalk this one up (and many more) to the Detroit player (the big ugly center) that precipitated the brawl in Detroit. Artest took the bait but the hook was set by the Detroit players who incited the Detroit fans along with Artest. The franchise has been in a free fall from that moment and may never recover. Quite a legacy for both teams.

this team (group of indivduals) are just too ugly to watch at this time. our only hope is to be lottery picks the next 2 years and get lucky.

I agree, Bird's NBA affirmative action plan he though would sell a few tickets has back fired. Golden State is going to make the playoffs in the west while the Pacers can't even make the playoffs in the pathetic east. Thats what happens when you bring in two horrible bench players and try to make them starters. He thought Hoosiers wouldn't mind losing as long as they had more caucasions on the floor but he was wrong. Pacer fans want to win and right now they suck. Golden State improving and the Pacers falling fast. They should have shipped JO instead of Harrington. |
