To all Pacers fans for and against the team drafting Roy Hibbart:

Yesterday I listened to a Kravitz and Eddie on 1070 the Fan and well they had a guest writer from the Washington Post who covers the George Town Hoyas by the name of Camille Powell calling in to talk about Roy Hibbart. And well I could not believe the number of nice things she had to say about this guy. After the interview Eddie White and Bob Kravitz claimed that "Roy Hibbart should be a crowd favorite", "Roy Hibbart sounds like the type of person you would want your daughter to date", "Roy Hibbart sounds like a Peyton Manning type dedicated worker".

Since there have been many good centers out of George Town College, Bird I think you got a solid steal in this Roy Hibbart guy. I am looking forward to him having a huge impact of the Pacers in many season's to come.

Well, I know this is a bit off topic, but so do the Patriots and so does Golden State.

Chip Ganassi just closed a losing team down (see article about Dario Franchitti), so why don't the Simons shut down the Pacers? Losing team, no hope of getting sponsorship, no bright future in sight, might as well shut 'em down and be done with it!

How good is J Jack????????
Does he even start??????????
Jack started a few games, but didn't keep the position because he turned the ball over way too much. He is a high energy guy though. I was never a big fan of him, but he isn't awful.

Sounds like another Travis Best to me. Well looks like the Pacers got hosed again.

I say the Simons trade the Pacers for the Blues NHL team. Then turn Conseaco into a hockey arena.

Who cares about the Pacers? Apparently not many based on the number of empty seats at Conseco Fieldhouse last year.

To be honest, professional basketball isn't interesting to watch at all anymore. Until they get to the playoffs, these guys don't work hard. They don't hustle. I watch these guys trot or walk up and down the court. It's no wonder their fan base is down.

To be honest, it should be down for the rest of the league but, apparently other cities enjoy watching lazy basketball. I mean, these guys can't make free throws anymore. I think fundamentals have been thrown out the window, and I think that's what has turned me off.

Eah some times it's exciting to watch your team a time or 2 when the season first start. But then the only time pro basketball (which is at an all time low) is ever worth watching is in the playoffs.

Oh well, at least the NHL is still exciting.

Jack works hard and will be a model citizen but he can't run the fast break and he makes untimely turnovers that change the pace of the game.

It will drive Pacer fans nuts.

You will be surprised at the skill level and passing ability of McRoberts though. He is an underrated player who needs minutes to show what he can do. Keep an eye on him during summer league.

I have no clue why Larry didn't want a stud like Bayless though.

Maybe the Pacers should start drafting from the IMPD. They seem to have as many criminals as the Pacers anymore.

The Indy star said Bayless didn't fit Jim O'Brien's system.

hahahha u pacers fans suck. Your team was on the cusp of winning an NBA title only 2 years ago. You guys gotta man up. Oh and by the way TJ ford is an amazing player, his shooing is sick, and his role as a pg is also sick. You guys shouldbe happy you jsut got an all star pg. As for rasho and baston, they both suck, getting rid of rasho was my #1 concern and he is finaly gone. Have fun with his reduclious clumbsyness and the fact that he is wayyyyyyyyy over paid. Lucky for us Oneal saw that the pacers suck and sat out last season so his knee could fully recover. Now its our time to shine as him bosh and calderon go for gold. Go Raps GO!!!!!!!!!!

And you think JO doesn't suck.

He is more over paid then any other man in the NBA except for Jamaal Tinesley and Stephen "Just Shoot Me" Jackson.
JO is old, slow and always injured. I was amazed any team would want him.

Larry had to move JO. He didn't want to play in Indiana anymore & was on the injured list most of the time.

It was time to get rid of his huge salary and get something for him so they can begin the rebuilding as fast as possible.

The 2 contracts they picked up from the Blazers are short term deals which expire next year.

OK, I know you think Portland got the better end of the Bayless/Diagu trade, I under stand that. But who got the better end of the JO trade?????

I say the Pacers cause it was basically overpriced talent for over priced talent and at least the Pacers got the lower sallaries and the higher draft pick.

It's hard to say who got the better deal in the JO transaction yet. If TJ Ford stays healthy and Larry cut down on total salaries which get's the team under the cap for Free-Agency in 2 more seasons - the edge goes to the Pacers. Larry Bird should study what Kevin Pritchard is doing and copy it exactly. The Blazers were looking like the Pacers are looking now just a few years ago- lost. Pritchard got rid of Zach Randolph and the team has been getting better ever since. There is no reason Larry Bird shouldn't be able to rebuild the Pacers in the East in a few seasons. Getting rid of JO is a start.
