Wolves draft Mayo, deal him

Reallh annpyed that the Timberwolves feel the need to lie about keeping Mayo. Obviously they had no intention of doing so.

Nora, we don't know that. Perhaps Memphis called the wolves after Hoiberg made his comments.

I personally like this deal although I know most people won't. I preferred Mayo to Love, but we also got sharpshooter Mike Miller, a gifted player, and got rid of three lousy contracts in exchange for two. I was hoping we would package Mayo and an asset, perhaps Brewer or the future Miami pick owed us, and trade with Miami for Beasley.

I think we are going to have to give this deal some time to play out before we judge it. The only things we know for certain right now are that we got rid of 3 bad contracts and that Mike Miller is a bona-fide NBA star. Any opinions that we have about how Mayo and Love project in the NBA are simply conjecture.

I'm not real happy right now. It has nothing to do with Kevin Love's potential, he seems to have a high basketball IQ and may be a decent player for a long time. It has more to do with the feeling that the front office has screwed it up again. After the Brandon Roy / Randy Foye trade, where we clearly traded away the player with MORE talent, I didn't think McFail would do it again. I'll wait and see, but I won't be going to any games until I see improvement. I probably will only check the paper the next morning instead of watching on TV. Thanks again McFail for throwing more water on my dying enthusiasm for the team.

Yesterday before the draft I sat and gave a co-worker of mine a hard time, saying that some how the T-Wolves and Mchale were some how going to screw up this years draft and not take OJ Mayo.
I sat on my couch eagerly awaiting the third pick to see what horrible choice they were going to make and to my surprise, they took the guy that would make me excited to watch the Wolves again after trading away the best player they've ever had, KG. So he could win a ring somewhere else instead of trying to find a way to add better player around him here.
Once the pick was made, I got a text from my co worker giving me a hard time and I was happy to take it, since we got the player we need to make this team better and exciting to watch again.
And now here we are sitting with Kevin Love......... This is going to be Roy for Foye all over again, except for the fact the Mayo is going to be so much better than Love that I just don't think that I can continue to be a fan of the Wolves,
Mchale has single handly destroyed the team that made me fall in love with the NBA.
What a waste.

I'm not sure this trade makes the rebuilding process any better/easier. If it were me I would have kept OJ Mayo, and sent Randy Foye away for Kevin Love. THAT would have made more sense!

Anyone who claims to be surprised by another "blockbuster" draft night trade by McHale needs to come back to earth and join the rest of us.
Mark my words, this will turn out to be the worst trade(and there have been many bad ones) McHale and the Wolves have ever made. I am officially done with the Wolves, until we get a real front office.

I'm not a big T-Pup fan, but who in the world beat McHale so hard as a child that he has this NEED to trade guys away? The other GMs in the league must love him. Got an itch to scratch? Call McHale, he'll provide the ointment.

History has proven that he isn't a good judge of talent when it comes to trades. I hope he's wrong on this one.

Right after my son said "O.J. Mayo is a good pick" I just had to say, thinking it was just sarcasm "wait for McHale to screw this up too. Looks like Kevin is thinking too much again.

Thank goodness Taylor did not buy the Vikings. We could then have 2 really screwed up pro sports organiztions in the same town. Mayo and Chalmers for Kevin Love - or should I say the "second coming of Kevin M and "money". McHale sure hung Hoiberg out to dry - so what else is new- its McHales way or no way. His way has sure won lots of games for us.

I hope this means less of the woodmutts on FSN.

Playing the devil's advocate, perhaps McHale was concerned about another Marbury wanting to bail out of Minnesota or another Rider never living up to his potential. Word is that Mayo didn't look happy about getting picked by Minnesota.

McHale needs to go! He needed to go a few years ago. This guy only is going to keep the wolves in the cellar. I would bet that the other GM's have him on their speed dials! Idiot!

I was hoping they would keep their 2nd round pick Chalmers. Why does McHale keep treating the 2nd round like it's the plague. Many very good players have been taken their. Ginobli, Gilbert Arenas, Michael Redd, Leon Powe, Nick Nan Exel..... I think Chalmers would be better than Telfair. Uh Oh, I forgot to take in to account the McHale logic.....that's right, there is none. Everything he does is screwed up.
