Right, so, just to put this into perspective for a non-basketball-fan: do those scores translate into "stomped," or just "soundly defeated?" I'm not trying to be disparaging here; I really want to know.

I'd say "soundly defeated", because they lost by 24 points. However, they scored more than predicted, while other teams lost by 40 or 50 points in the same tournament. I would say that those teams were "stomped"!
