do it, Get Kobe now!!

As a Laker fan reading this garbage, I just find it laughable. Kobe isn't going anywhere and he's certainly not going to the knicks for the garbage that they are offering. that lineup stinks in the eastern conference, they play in the worst division nd still can't make the playoffs. Yet the Lakers are going to trade the best player since MJ for that garbage and expect that roster to succeed in the west? This guy's article proves that anyone can be a sports "journalist".

Ken Berger, you must be on heavy medication if you think the Lakers will trade Kobe to the Knicks for three stiffs like Fry, Robinson, Lee and a 23 pick in the draft. This is worse than O'Neal for Odom, Grant and
Butler. You must think that Kupchak is as bad as Thomas in determining talent. You have a better chance at 2 Laker girls for the three throwaways you mentioned |

Haha keep on dreaming. That is one absurd deal
|

You're a Moron!!! Why would the Lakers trade the best player in the league for a bunch of nobody's? The Knicks have no one that the Lakers would want. Please quit fantasizing and start being real.

i don't want that crap in my city anyway. regardless of how terrible our division/conference is, and the fact that we still win... regardless of how stinky our lineup is, i don't want that piece of ---- here to bring piece of ---- basketball fans like you guys out of the slums of nyc. you guys only come out when some dirtbag like kobe comes around. don't do it isiah! you'll make the city be one terrible place for REAL basketball fans

Berger said teams would have to match Kobe's $17.7 mill salary plus the 15% trade kicker.
I believe that correct number (next season's number) is $19,490,625 plus 15% kicker. and as a Knick diehard that doesn't over value a chemistry handicapped scorer and understands the value of a young talented roster I hope swapping our youth for one great scorer is something we pass on. |

I don't want Kobe but if we are comparing GMs.
Zeke who I loath never destroys a dynasty to placate a whiny scorer. Zekek may be on the way to rebuilding this team (time will tell) Mitch IMPLODED the Lakers... so.... advantage Zeke This is the one GM he out performed. BTW if Lee is a scrub then Odom much really suck because Lee's performance was somewhat close for a Buttload less money. Odom's year was a little better costing a LOT more. Lee is an asset and the Fakers have been trying to unload Odom (for Frye last off-season) at every turn. |

The Knicks have nothing that would be worth Kobe. Channing Frye, David Lee, and Stephon Marbury are nice role players and Stephon Marbury, although he is a tremendous talent is a team-killing ball hog. A package that includes Eddy Curry wouldn't even do much for the Lakers, but that is a mute point, since Isiah doesn't want to include him because he is the master of low-ball trade offers. I would say "keep dreaming, New Yorkers" but Mitch Kupchak sold Shaq's birth rights for a bowl of lentil soup a few years back, so maybe Isiah can make one of his patented "bag of crap offers" and land Kobe.

In light of the recent remarks emanating from Lakerville this scenario is as likely as pulling a trade for oden & durant .
Good Luck Zeke. |

If this is true... And if the Knicks get Kobe, I'll buy season tickets for everyone xD.

The Knicks have nothing that is worth Kobe. Channing Frey, David Lee, and the little dude, can't remember his name, you know the little dunking champion guy, they are all decent role players, nothing more. Stephon Marbury is a great talent, but also is a team killing ball hog. Even including Eddy Curry wouldn't help the Lakers much, but Isiah would never do that because he is the king of low-ball trade offers. However, since Mitch Kupchak sold the birthrights to Shaquille O'Neal for some lentil soup a few years ago, maybe you Isiah can make one of his patented "bag of crap" offers and get luck.

there's no way I'm trading my fillet mignon for three cheeseburgers and a future corndog.

thats agood article berger

That trade is just dumb. Why would the lakers want the knicks lineup. I mean seeing how well the knicks are playing. Kobe's not leaveing and for sure it wouldn't be to the knicks for their whole crappy team.
|
||||

Eddy Curry is not an "elite" post player, certainly not anywhere Shaq was when he and Kobe played together.

Why waste your time writing this nonsense. Kobe is not going to be traded this year, especially to the Knicks. The Lakers are going to make trades for players like O'Neal and possibly Camby. Kobe would never waive his no-trade clause to go lose for such a sorry organization as the Knicks. A year from now, the Lakers may have no choice to trade him since he can opt out. He will want to go to a team like the Bulls where he can win. I see all the beat writers around the country talking about Kobe coming to their city. Why waste your time. It's not going to happen.
