It was disappointing to see the Cubs fall back into (hopefully brief) offensive swoon. I hope Jason Kendall will start producing. The Cubs need his leadership and consistency on offense. The last couple of games were the first in several weeks where the whole team seemed to be off focus and that's not a good way to start a road trip when you've on the heels of the division leaders.

Lou's correct. Cubs were defensively sound and starting pitching was good enough in last 2 games. Good pitching beat them. Cubs went cold. Coincidently, Lee & Ward being out changes the opponents entire approach. Fontenot & DeRosa are doing a nice job; but are not proto-type long-ball threats. The other manager's no dummy either.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Cancer

You feel the urge to move onward, powered by your wisdom: when you're right, you're right. You may feel that any further explanation is unnecessary, but the people you're dealing with might need it spelled out for them. Take the time to draw a picture or use smaller vocabulary words to get your point across, Cancer. A public demonstration will probably prove to be the last word on the subject.
