How can the worst manager in baseball question anybody on anything.?.If Fred, "I inherited my fortune from my father" Wilpon has any hope of winning the division, he's got to get a new manager now!!! Willie Randolph was a genius compared to this dopw

Several Met's players are lacking heart! It's frustrating to watch them build a lead and let the starting pitching squander a lead before 6 innings....

A fundamental rule of baserunning is NEVER to watch the ball! The theory is (and widely accepted) that the body follows the direction of the head when running (and walking, etc.)so that, even when sprinting, the slightest turning of the head away from the intended direction reduces your speed. Beltran must look straight ahead, pick up on the on-deck batter's signal and body language of the catcher and make his decision on how to score. None of this was done. If this was a major league play, my name is Abner Doubleday. And they wanna know what's wrong with the Mets.

It would be so refreshing if Beltran had just admitted to a mistake. All he had to say was that he blew it and should have gone hard into home. It would then be a non-issue and soon forgotten.

Enough! Look at the replay, he had plenty of time after looking at the ball to make up his mind. It was a cop-out play by Carlos.

Carlos just had a brain freeze out there. Give the guy the benefit here he did'nt walk the whole ballpark that night. Except for 2005 the guy has lived up to his contract expectations so far. Not like Pedro who earned close to 40 million the last three years for 17 wins.

I don't think they're lacking heart. I think they're lacking BALLS. These guys are a bunch of pansies. Betran could have taken out Molina on that play, and earlier Murphy could have stepped on Molinas face. If the catcher is blocking the plate, you're allowed to knock him out. Don't they know this?? Before they all grow a pair, nothing will change. You gotta go for the jugular!

Beltran's comments sum it up right there. "I might have gotten hurt". The 2 Carlos' play so soft and have no fight in them. Neither of them ever try to slide hard into 2nd to break up a double play. They don't even make it to the bag. They just stop running. And Delgado doesn't even try to stop groundballs near him. Never dives, won't even bend over. He just gives a half hearted attempt and waives his glove at it. No heart. And they're the leaders. Reyes is getting infected with it, and Wright can't seem to figure out pitchers when they change things up with men on base. They're all soft

Instead of worrying about Beltran's slide, Moron Manuel, why don't you worry about how you manage; you dumb jerk....If I were Omar , "The Tentmaker" Minaya , I'd call Freddy, " I inherited Doubleday" and tell him to get rid of sh.t for brains Manuel..They will never, including if Christ himself were playing for the Mets, win as long as Jerry, Temple Emanuel" Manuel is the manager.. As Al Campanis once said, "he lacks the necessities." I'm not a racist..I love Barack Obama but I can't stand Mister Moron Manuel..

Why didn't Jerry ask him why the *@#* he is looking at the ball when he is running the bases? If he had just run once he made the decision it would not have been close. Who taught these guys how to play baseball? We used to pick up our coaches and/or the on deck hitter would have been there to tell us to slide. Why do today's players look at the ball when running the bases?
