Torii is starting to realize that moving to the west coast was not an easy ticket to the WS. He now on the back side of his career, unlikely to ever win a championship and starting to unravel.

The umpire accused Hunter of bumping him, which isn't exactly accurate. When Hunter got in his face the edge of his helmet touched the umpire slightly. That is not bumping. Not making excuses, but just because Torii is no longer a Twin doesn't make him a demon. Heck, Gardenhire has behaved in the same manner (with the exception of tossing baseballs). I don't care of the pitch(es) hit him in the back side, kids watch these games and throwing gatorade buckets and balls and pitching a hissy are unnecessary. Thanks to Donal Fehr, these prima donnas get paid win, lose or draw, so the least Torii can do is conduct himself like a professional in public instead of losing it over a single K.

What a role model! Not one bit of self control. Glad he's no longer with Minnesota.

And yet, when Billy Martin did the same type of thing, he was considered a fiery competitor.

Then maybe the parents involved in kids games should be the first to set the example. Can't remember a kids game where some parent wasn't yelling at the ump, another parent, or generally acting like an a.s.s. Heck, tell me the last time in professional baseball their was a murder over some call. It's happened more than once at the Little League level. From what I can tell, professional sports is more tame than what these kids are seeing at the local level.

If scientists succeed in splitting the water molecule with a release of power, we will have cheap, plentiful energy for the future.....C'mon, everybody join in! Just toss out those non sequiturs- we can have a wonderful page of disjointed comments! This discussion thing is SOOO predictable! The back and forth exchanges..stop it already, I am in danger of LEARNING something. Hey Fryktman, do you imagine yourself to be clever with that post? Or maybe some sort of 'blog-guerrilla'??!! What's your perspective?

Hunter seems to be going downhill fast - not that he isn't still a good player, but it sure seems like the Twins made the right choice in not signing him to a huge contract.
