Short article. True, there wasn't much to say - we've seen this one too many times, anyway - but I do get the feeling that Juan was in a hurry to file and get over to the football game.

Wellmeyer lost the plate...and nobody with the Marlins noticed. We could have had a big inning and busted him out but we've got guys swinging at ball three and ball four...instead of using their heads and taking the 2-0 and 2-1 pitches to force him to throw strikes. through the first six innings he started almost every Marlin off with a fast ball strike down the middle of the plate. I'd like to see if ANY Marlins batter noticed that...cause I don't think anyone swing on his first pitch. and Gonzo...I'm sorry. I would much rather have had Hermida or even McPehrson in there if you need a left handed bat.

As far as swinging at everything that looks vaguely white and round, that's been going on for a month and a half now. This team desperately needs a new set of coaches. Soon. |

You got it right. Infield coach and batting coach are a must. Also, we badly need a couple of contact hitters. Forget about 25-30 HRs, they need to put the ball in play and move the runners which is not happening as frequently as desired. Moving Hermida, Uggla, Jacobs for next season should not be considered a firesale if that means getting a pair of .290,.300 contact hitters to improve the run-scoring stats. Don't you think? |

Agreed. However, they will not be moved for more contact, they will be moved for lower salary prospects, so it will still be a firesale. |
