Great idea genius! Just call Tampa ASAP and tell them the Mets may have been a bit hasty in shipping him down there and would like to have him returned!!! I try to refrain from tossing insults but you just happen to be even more stupid then I gave you credit for being. You are just flat out ignorant!

They didn't even get to enjoy the novelty effect of Victor Zambrano. He won the wildness triple crown with Tampa Bay. Most walks, wild pitches and hit batsmen. But he didn't even stay healthy long enough to hit anybody for the Mets. Plus, the Yankees had to like that deal, since Zambrano was always beaning their guys.

a better question is 'who scouted Zambrano for the Mets and recommeded trading Kazmir? Back then the Yanks saw the rays 19 times per year, with Zambrano pitching at least 5 or 6 games. They always talked about his potential if he could stop walks, wild pitches and hit batsmen.... ranks up there with Ryan for Fregosi, nother Met pitcher traded for a quick fix...

How about the mets trading Amos Otis to KC for the great Joe Foy. this may actually be the second or third worst trade in mets history.

Regardless, still a horrible trade. Although, I never heard that about Middleton.
I do remember a great line from the Big Whistle just before the trade. While playing Boston, he said if you leave Carol Vadnais alone long enough, he'll give you the puck. Vadnais wouldn't report to the Rangers till Chadwick apologized! So he apologized for stating the truth. I hated that trade!!! Espo was a Bruin in a Ranger jersey. Ultimately he got Chadwick fired and took over the GM job long enough to bury the team. He was a know nothing, lousy skater who hung by the net his entire career!
I think that Vadnais had a no-trade clause. As for Espo, everyone knew him as a guy who built a career in front of the crease, but he didn't get enough credit as a player. In fact, in Vladislav Tretiak's book, he discusses the 1972 Soviet-Team Canada series. He wrote that his biggest fear was seeing Espo leading the rush down the ice.

Once again due to a late starting time I missed a classic ending to a playoff game. What do we on the east coast need to do to get a fair shake. These are two east coast teams . Why not a 7:30 start? Can't you sports writers from our local papers speak up for us. We have jobs to go to in the morning alot of us cannot stay up until after midnight.

As a Yankee fan, of course I hate the Red Sox, but the media, Mets fans, Mets announcers, etc etc has also made me a Met Hater. I loved the trade when it happened and still love it today. I love the fact that the Rays also have two ex-Met relievers and of course the Padres have an ex-Met who will be the next Hoffman in Heath Bell. Of course I should just worry about my own team and I do, but when my team makes me a little unhappy I look at the Mets and feel better about my team. Call me what you wish but I am speaking honestly. I hate the Red sox and the Mets. BTW I love there collapses, by next year people will forget about the Yankee collapse and remember these guys in September. Go Phillies, you are my second favorite team. Can't wait to hear about an el duque invite to spring training by Omar. The only reason it is not Jamie Moyer is he isn't Hispanic.

First they ley Nolan Ryan go. Then Tom Seaver, twice. Now, Kazmir.
It's a NY MUTROPOLITAN legacy of failure and ineptness.
Remember... One World Series win in 39 seasons!! 1970 -??

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Scorpio

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
