Adversity, a constant companion to this erratic ballclub, brings out the best in Manuel. He controls his feelings well, keeping the players from pressing if, in fact, anyone on this club can be said to be trying too hard. At any rate, Jerry's handling all the many disappointments as a consummate pro. His handling of mixing in the rookies in key situations has been exceptional. Whether this quality will win him the permanent job should club not make the postseason is doubtful, unfortunately. Winning really is everything, especially in NY.

1 Same crap that happened all of last year. The only thing amazing about this team is how they can consistently continue to play out the same results every friggin night. Put Jesus Christ on the mound and he will give up a home run in the 8th or 9th. Nobody will be able to fix this team except the baseball gods. Kunz didn't give up a home run in 3 plus years. First game as a Met. Home run! |
