Stick a fork in this team they are done. Joe Nathan couldn't save another game if his life depended upon it! They can't hit, they can't score. They can't keep other teams from scoring in late innings. They are done and we might as well get use to it!

The Twins need to come home. The White Sox aren't that great. The Twins can still win the division, and anything can happen in the playoffs.

The one constant value in baseball that shows up every year about late August into September is called pre-post season pressure. It clearly showed last night, unforced errors, 3 strikeouts by a lead off rookie hitter, blown saves. Pennant pressure is alive and well in the Twins Clubhouse. It also does not help this is the end of a long 6000 mile road trip. No matter what happens the rest of the way it still has been a better year than what most were predicting for the Twinkies for 2008.

Boof Strikes Again! If they don't win the division, he can bear the brunt of the blame. What a pathetic excuse for a pitcher.

I think it's especially great to see the leader- ship being provided by the veterans Nathan and Guardado. Nathan has a 95 mph fastball and he's out there throwing junk 3/4 of the time for some reason. Eddie can't get anybody out. If they had done their jobs the Twins would have 4 more wins on this roadtrip. Punto is great at 2nd and third but he's pretty ordinary at shortstop. No excuses for the current roadtrip. Bear down and play hard. Force some action don't wait for somebody else.

To have Jason Pridie in the outfield during a pennant race is poor managing. Anyone who thinks that Gardenhire should win the Manager of the Year award is nuts. I was one who thought getting Guardado back was a good move. I was totally wrong. Giving up a top notch prospect like Hamburger was a mistake. Yes I realize he was a undrafted prospect, but there is a good chance that we'll regret that trade for years. Guardado did not hit a pitch over 90 mph at all last night. Throwing 87 MPH fastballs won't cut it. This team is not showing heart orguts at all, and it is quite disappointing. At least we have the undefeated Gopher football team to cheer for.

It ain't over til it's over. We have had a lousy road trip and we are still just one game out of first place. I like all the Minnesota teams and would love to see the Vikings and/or Gophers tied for first place this deep into the season. Get ready to jump back on the bandwagon folks.. We're Gonna Win Twins. We're Gonna Score..

LOL we all know the Mauers did not write that. The lost can be attributed to the defense and the fact the team could not score with runners in scoring position with 1 or less outs. I wouldn't throw the towel in quite yet. They are not playing well right now and they still are not that far out. Go Twins.

The Twins need to figure out how to win on the road, need to play their regulars and obviously can't depend on Eddie G. They are in the position to still win the division somehow.

Now is not the time to go all negative and throw in the towel. Our Twins are ending a brutal road trip less than two games back of the White Sox. The Twins have never built up a huge lead in earlier Pennant races. They just dont have the depth to run away and hide like the Angels or the Yankees used to do. It has always been one step forward, half a step back. The real Pennant race starts with ten games to go. Thats when the real contenders step up to the plate.Panicking and waving surrender flags has no place in a legitimate Pennant face.

This road trip told a lot about this team....Between the Mariners and the A's they were 3-4 to two teams nearly 40 games below .500. Ouch.
