PLEASE!!!! ANYBODY!!!!! Including you Juan, tell me that you weren't disgusted and appalled at the Jaker giggling about the ball rolling inside his shirt RIGHT BEFORE the McCann 2 run blast. And how about his minimal effort to keep his foot on the bag on the Uggla relay. And how about his waving at the ground balls scooting into right field. The Braves announcers were having a field day--I trust one of our esteemed sports journalists will remark on it.

AND PLEASE----Jacques Jones CAN't PLAY!!! The cubs know it. The Tigers know it!! Hell, the WHOLE LEAGUE knows it.

If DeAza has had his visa revoked just tell us about it, or get the FUTURE up here NOW. I'd rather see Maybin !!! than this clown patrolling CF or patrolling an outhouse for that matter.

OH WOW THAT MAN JACOBS AT A AGAIN!!!

He cost a bunch of runs tonight and took the spirit of the team down with his lack awful defense. He is gonna get hurt out there and this team, which has marginal defense, can not afford a failure like that at first base.

Jacobs has been booting groundballs and playing little league defense since he got here and he just does not improve and is a gigantic liability. Sure, every 2 months or so he goes into a cycle where he strikes out 10 times and hits 3 or 4 homers and then he goes dormant again and again. If the team's intentions are to win, then they have to start playing Helms more or at least platooning at first base. Helms fields 10 times better and hits just as well or better, and for better average. Maybe you can just play Jacobs when Jamie Moyer is pitching and then play it by ear.

Last year, the Marlins were going OK while Jacobs was injured (again and again) and while journeyman Aaron Boone was playing at first base. The moment that Boone was not able to play and Jacobs was back in the line up, the lapses on defense and the big innings for the opposition started.

JACOBS, big muscular good looking guy, nice guy, long looping swing that whiffs and whiffs and whiffs and hits a few homers, people get excited because they actually think this guy is a great athlete because he looks good. THE MARLINS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DUMP this guy on anybody because he is not good enough hitter to be a DH in the other league and there is no team that will have him at first base. He is the Junior Felix of first base for the Marlins.

THIS IS THE SAME SHOW WE SEE NOW FOR 3 YEARS. Every journeyman first base, Boone and Helms have outplayed him. Anyway, when Jacobs is going well, he will get injured again and again because he is is a player that puts is injury prone and his weight lifting and his good looks are the priority to him. If I was him, I stop lifting and get my body into a more flexible baseball like frame. This is one trade that whoever they gave the Mets to for Jacobs has been a trade that has cost many loses.

Yeah, Jac looked awful in the field. But the managerial decisions in the fourth drove me crazy.

Fish get runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Next thing you know noone has scored and the bases are loaded with one out and Nolasco at the plate- who has already had a nice sac bunt and slapped a single by making contact. I would have pinch hit for him then, the Braves were knocking him all over the park. If you are going to leave him in then the only offense you can do is squeeze. Do they? No, hit grounds weakly to third for an inning ending DP - no runs. YUCK!!!

Then he pitches in the fifth and the Braves continue to rip him- even their outs were rockets.

I put this loss on the mgr.

they're going to keep losing if they continue to give up 7 runs every game!

well, I guess we can't expect much more with a $21 million salary...the guys are playing their hearts out, but it's not looking like that will be enough!

we played a sloppy game all around, if that ball hadn't gone into jacobs shirt maybe we never see Mcann's homer, just another tough loss. They need to take care of business at home now though, and they will be fine.

Dear Juan Rodriguez, I understand that there appears to be little interest in the Florida Marlins. However you do write a very good summation of the game with salient comments, having said that wouldyou deem it appropriate to MAYBE sometimes respond to some of the comments.

An example would be an answer to the age old question--Where in the heck is Alejandro De Aza????? The man9boy) suffered an injury in last spring training game--it has been labled as a "sprained ankle" by the MARLINS not by other sources. Juan, A SPRAINED ANKLE!!!! Does that mean that Mr March or Senor Marzo will again be out until last two weeks of September. This jaker is starting to make Mike hampton look like Lou Gehrig.

Lou, you might want to go to the SunSentinel Marlins blog page. They answer questions there, sometimes. Here, I have never seen an author respond.

Absolutely f-ing right on the button...no way you let Nolasco hit with Hanley on deck. Switched to Lakers-Celtics after that pathetic non-move.

Lou,
The greatest achievement for the local sports writers these days is not writing or informing or reporting but seems to be qualifying in the talent pool to get invited to be in ESPN's Around the Horn or Pardon me I want be be Woody Allen Stupid. And if they get real famous with their comedy they can compete with Don Cherry and Woody Paige to wear outlandish costumes.

So forget about them putting a hard question to triathlon Napoleonic Loria family chihuahua Dave Samson like, what happened to all of the great players we were supposed to get back for the world class talent that the Marlins gave away?

LOU VALES,

And Fredi is sitting Cody Ross on the bench and others to play Jacque and to allow Mike Jacobs to play. If you play Cody Ross at first base, he will probably be better fielder there than Mike Joker Jacobs. It is like they are hoping that Jacobs goes on a Mickey Mantle hitting rampage and they can sell him for another prospect. Ha...... They know Cody Ross will not be tradeable or sellable and that weightlifting, muscle pulling, injury prone Jacobs might be.
