i don't think anybody's gonna miss those first pitch whiffs

Other names believed to be on the Marlins radar include big-league relievers Leo Nunez and Ramon Ramirez, Double-A right-hander Daniel Cortes and Class A right-hander Blake Wood.
Blake Wood. LOL Sounds like a 70's porn name.!!! |

I know the payroll is going up, and I trust the front office. I can see that this is a baseball move, but I still hope we get equal value here, and this isn't just a salary dump motivated by having a (perhaps) stronger player behind him.

Well we kind of have overflow of players at the corners. Cantu, McPherson and Sanchez. Of the three I would really like to see if Dallas is ready to come back to the majors..he definately has the biggest pop of the group. All make jacobs expendable.

Many friends I met on a sports community ==mysportsdate.com ==say they trust the front office. I can see that this is a baseball move. I met these friends on there because we all like sports and we usually talk together.

Of course. Formula for a rip off:
1. Get 1/2 billion for a stadium for a stadium or else,'we're leaving'. 2. Add free municipal land worth millions. 3. Add tax breaks. 4. Subtract any player good\ worth more than 1 mil a year. 5. Reduce the salary cost to under 20 mil for the team. 6. Gaurantee mediocrity. AND... Presto! A RIP OFF is born (again). |

Sean, LordBishop: I completely agree. I still kind of hold my breath any time a trade rumor involves Marlins starters for another team's prospects, but this definitely looks like baseball rather than payroll. And the corners are definitely the least of our worries. Besides, as long as the Marlins are still playing at Dolphins Stadium I don't know why they keep looking for lefties to bat cleanup. Jacobs' 32 was herculean considering that massive right field. Let him go somewhere where he can knock 40, get in another big-bopping righty and get more pitching.

This is the correct move to make considering the others we need to sign and Gaby Sanchez is the proper replacement.

we won't miss the Preening Peacock, but it will be warmer out there without the breezes he generated with those over abundant looping whiffs. And then came the pose. Don't worry about the lost 32 homers. How many of them were meaningful?
|

Dont really know of any of the prospects ,but the team has done well with these types of trades before so I can't be too skeptical. That being said is this a Bienfest move or a Samson move?
|
||||
|
WHATS THE USE WE TRADE JACOBS FOR PROSPECTS AND WE WILL TRADE THOSE PROSPECTS FOR PROSPECTS ONCE THEY BECOME LEGIT MAJOR LEAGUERS ANYWAY. IM SICK OF SEEING PLAYERS DEVELOP HERE ONLY FOR THEM TO BE TRADED . ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY. REVOKE THE STADIUM DEAL AND LET THEM MOVE. NO ONE CARES ABOUT BASEBALL ANYWAYS JUST LOOK AT THE RATINGS OF THE WORLD SERIES.

Are we all going to keep our heads in the sand? We are building a stadium for a weak fan base that will continue to dwindle due to a failing economy?
Hello? Maybe the new stadium will be used as a giant soup kitchen...Camillus Stadium for the homeless and unemployed. |
||||
|
Sounds like a typical Front Office cheapo move. Dump a solid player who's contract is up and swap him out for another scrap heap Rag Arm.
Yeah, Sanchez is proven. Do us all a favor Loria and bring in another partner who can afford to run a team. What a jerk. |
