everyone is quick to forget why we signed Ramon in the first place...another fly by wire op. to make it look as if the team was investing in talent via free agency
we talk about salary dumpm then sign BS players for 4,5,and 6 mil a yr. get rid of these contracts and take care of talent on the other side of 30.
the point of this trade was simply to send a message that the organization is trying to get better...don't buy into this bs!
Actually we signed Ramon because Javy aged 20 years overnight ... but please dont let facts get in the way of a bitter whiny rant.

I still don't know what ithe infactuation is with Pie? The Cubs gave up on Corey Patterson and now they have apparently given up on Felix Pie. So why do we want him?
same reason Cubs/San Diego want a pitcher who has failed in two tries and who we have given up on. Low risk and high upside if a change of scenery works wonders. Not sure what Patterson has to do with it but ok.

You know, like many Orioles fans, I'm sick of the current status. Do something!!! Our team has not had a winning season in over a decade, sign a big name free agent, over pay if you have too. Bring Texieria home, its a natural. Make a good faith effort for Burnett, as local products they will draw fans to an empty Oriole Park. Unloading Hernandez for another journeyman outfielder does not translate in many more wins for this team. Do something Angelos, your loosing what's left of those who have been loyal for a long time and this time you won't get us back.

We are trading one problem for another, perhaps many problems. Freel is an often-injured, often arrested, wacko. Other than the feeling of satisfaction we get from making Ramon move to Cincy, this trade offers no benefit to our team, unless one of the throw-ins amount to something. Ramon was a fat lazy slug, but he was our fat, lazy slug. I also do not understand the hate directed at Ghost Oriole. But it is amusing to read.
We took him because the Reds were trying to unload his salary. This trade was about, saving $2 mil, getting two prospects, clearing room for Weiters, and getting a guy who can play 8 positions.

This was a great trade. A++

Check out that MORON Ghost Oriole`s post on the Ravens, earlier this year he said the Ravens would be lucky to go 4-12 and he said Pissburgh would run over us(hmmm, they beat a rookie QB at home by 3 pts., not exactly run over to me)this clown mommas boy has no credibilty when it comes to sports knowledge. I think if he wrote a book on everything he knows about sports it would be less then one paragraph long.

Ramon can be a good defensive and offensive catcher when properly motivated. But the Orioles don't figure to be a contending team this year. Looks like Oriole management thought he would be more motivated elsewhere.

I am really curious to know who advices Andy on deals such as this. Who did the research and decided adding another loser to the team would make us anything more then a bigger collection of losers.

It's not too important what the O's got for Ramon. It's not about that. The trade was made mainly to clear the way for Matt Weiters. When Weiters gets the call-up midseason, did we really want him picking up those anti-Charlie Hustle habits from Ramon??? Ramon had some skills, but, he's just not the best mentor for a great but impressionable talent like Matt Weiters. Weiters needs a serious major league teacher to pair with. Zaun would be great for that role.

Ghost Oriole, what trade would have made with Hernandaz?
----------
I would've dumped him for prospects or just released him.

You guys don't understand the problems Ryan Freel will cause.

He's bad news. The O's traded one problem for another.

Once again a moronic post.
Overall loser in Minnesota that got the team two World Series titles.
Not a disaster in Chicago at all. And by the way they always had one of the highest payrolls while he was in Chicago.
Pat Gillick is a genius? It took him 16 years to win a world series in Toronto. And then put the finishing touches on the Philadelphia team. Although he largely ignored the pitching staff, and they got kind of lucky towards the end.
Wow. Just.....wow.

Praising MacPhail while slamming Gillick.

Wow. Talk about being dishonest.

If you say so. I haven't ever posted anything on the Ravens because I don't follow the team.

Keep making things up. You're a good O's fan!

If Freel does turn out to be a headache, they can just dump him like they could have dumped Ramon. No team would take Ramon's contract without getting rid of some of their own excess payroll. At least Freel makes less $$ than Ramon, and at least they get a major league talent to have some fun experiments with. Freel could be a valuable utility guy or just a schmuck that fades away. No big deal. We just signed a good shortstop and now need some starting pitching. That's the tricky part.

Also, can we afford to have a 1st baseman hitting as poorly as Millar? I think not. Nice guy,but he's gotta go.

I'll give you an imaginary dollar for every attendance record low we set this upcoming season.

If anyone hasn't noticed by now, there's a reason I am betting with imaginery money.

In this specific case I would guess that since they just signed an ex Reds front office guy that he would have insight into the players we got in return for Ramon. Just my guess

lol, yeah shame on me. Using facts and honest evidence instead of making up anything that makes the Orioles look bad. I am a bad boy. I will send myself to bed tonight without my nightly orange Kool Aid.

What garbage are you referring to? Did we not sign Ramon to replace Javy? Did Javy not fall apart overnight, going from career high HR numbers to ... major suckdom? What is it I said that you found wrong, dishonest or offensive? I dont understand. It wasnt even pro team or defending the team. Just stating the facts.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Capricorn

Someone is in a finger-wagging mood and unfortunately they seem to be concentrating on you! Maybe they think you've fallen from grace for some reason, or perhaps you're simply the only person who happens to be around when they feel like letting off steam. Do your best not to fall into an equally critical and disgruntled mood, because it will soon make you feel wretched.
