Matt Garza doesn't like the Twins. Maybe it explains why the Twins let him go. Still, it's good to hear some criticism from players, even if they are former players on other teams. Garza's comments, however, are not very constructive.

I agree with Garza. The only real answer to all of the baseball stadium questions was a retractable dome!

What's more stupid? Playing outdoor baseball, like it's suppose to be played, or playing indoor baseball in FLORIDA, like the DEVIL RAYS do?

Garza failed to mention the foul order coming out of the garbage burner next door - enough to make you gag some days...

We already have a garbage burner in the dome. Its the stench from the concourse right when you enter. The stench of watered-down beer and cooked hot dogs that have no open air to escape. Enough to make you puke upon entering the dome...

While it is going to cost more, there wont be any "stink" coming from the garbage burner. See the article below:

So all you stadium haters should be quiet and be proud that we will finally have a stadium that the rest of the league wont make fun of.

The opposing team has to pitch in the cold, too. The Texas Rangers never pitch in the cold. That's probably why their pitching is so good. HaHa. Get a clue, people. The weather situation does not turn good pitchers into bad pitchers, and the Twins players will be able to handle it. They're big boys.

Obviously Matt Garza is a complete pansy-wimp.

I'm guessing he'll be playing in California once he can become a free agent...

Why would the same dis-advantage apply to the apposing pitchers Garzy? Plus wouldn't our players be at an advantage if they continue to play in it and are use to it? It will be what Green Bay is to Football QB's.

I don't think that Garza really knows what he's talking about. Yes, April can be cool, but I'm sure the Twins will make sure that the team goes on road trips for the first few weeks of the season.

But today is May 3. It's a beautiful day in the Twin Cities - sunny, relatively calm, weather hovering right around 70 degrees. And the game against KC today was played INSIDE. If you look at average temps for the end of April and beginning of May, the high is around 65 degrees - pretty good baseball weather if you ask me.

As for September, well the weather toward the end of summer is generally much better than the weather at the end of Spring, so I don't think there's anything to worry about there.

So we're really only worried about the first few weeks in April and any potential games in October. Trust me, I don't think that anyone will be complaining if we're playing in the new stadium come October.

We all know if Garza was still here he would be saying it's going to be a great stadium and look fwd to opposing teams battle the cold.

Forgot.... Maybe Mr. Garza doesn't pay attention to things he talks about. If I remember, Twins officials have asked (and have been granted) MLB to schedule the home opener 2 weeks (or about) into the season.

Hey Jim, Florida is no picnic in the Summer. The funny thing is that they are talking about building an outdoor stadium in Tampa. I laugh everytime I see the players and fans sweating their butts off in Miami during the Marlin's home games

Lets get a real independent review of this issue. This is a Libral site that has a Gloabal warming fever. The stadium is going to be great either way. Cold or hot, we will be complaining either way.

Who honestly cares what Matt Garza thinks about Minnesota's new stadium. He should shut his mouth and be thankful he isn't pitching here with that attitude and crappy facial hair. Fans here would see right through him...punk.

I am so tired of reading about why a roof isn't being put over the new stadium and how playing in MN will be unbelievably terrible in April, May, Sept, and Oct. People seem to forget, baseball is played OUTDOORS in the spring and fall in places such as... Boston, New York Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and Denver.
There hasn't been a game played in Denver yet this year above 65 degrees, and most have had the threat of rain or it has been raining. It even snowed the night before one game, but they played the next day. Guess what? We still go to the games. Why? Because we like baseball. My answer... Deal with it and quit your bichin'.

Did Garza forget he plays in the same division as the Yankees, Red Sox, and Orioles? New York, Boston, and Baltimore all have similar weather as in Minneapolis in the early and late part of the season. Does he really think temperatures in the 70's in May & September are all that bad? Sure it's not 85 and sunny in those months, but I don't think that warrants complaints for a roof. Besides Matt Garza is a douche. Anyone who takes him seriously could be compared to one also. I think there's a reason the Twins shipped him out of town.
