2009 Chicago Cubs pitching vs. 1985 Cubs: Who's got more depth?

Full story: Chicago Tribune

It's quiet. Too quiet. Everybody is happy here. Very, very happy. And why not? Every day the past week, it has been 80 degrees and as clear as a popular girl's complexion.

lmao.. All things Cubs have this cartoon-ish feel to them. Is the Trib actually publishing this article?

Depth? If anything the Cubs should be worried about their lack of depth. They have 2 injury prone starters (Z & Harden) plus 2 guys coming off career years (Lilly & Dempster). This season is likely to end like 1985, a freaking disaster.

Once again, as always the Cubs overrate their talent by 100%.

You may not even have the best rotation in Chicago let alone MLB.

Apparently Rick Morrissey had a brain fart. Hey Rick, it's the "85" Bears, not the "85" Cubs.

Ok, I'll talk about the 85 Cubs. What do the 85 and the 08 Cubs have in common? They're both LOSERS!

Can't someone at the Trib write something interesting? It is nothing but stupid puff piece after boring puff piece.

Morrissey, you are writing the column of pros like Verdi and Lincicome. It is well past the time that you show them some respect and turn in a story worthy of them.

Otherwise, do us all a favor and quit and go write for Vineline.

It is March 3rd and I am already bored by all the Sox fans and their inferiority complex. Please act like an adult and dont post on Cubs articles just to talk smack!
How do you know this guy is a Sox fan and not a Cradinals fan or a Brewers fan?

lol ya your right...floyd colon contreras and marquez can compete with the backend rotation of lilly harden marshall...DUMBEST COMMENT EVER...floyds era will be mid high 4s you heard it here first. look deeper at his stats, HRs, BAA on balls in play and run support and you will see that he was arguably the luckiest pitcher in the entire mlb hahahaha and there is no way danks repeats a low 3s era...no way

Trust me the Cubs have the best rotation in Chicago. It will be nice to see the Royals finish ahead of the White Sux. Enjoy last place. But hey Sox fans you can always live in the past. You can think of 1906 and 2005 while the rest of us still live in the now.

08 it was the Sux that stunk. Tigers and Indians had off years. Hell the whole AL central was a joke and still is. Cubs will make the post season for the 3rd year in a row while the Sux will troll in the basement. Enjoy 2009, I will!

Getting swept in the playoffs?? Two times in a row??? Best team in NL????

Yeah, keep living in the NOW, as it will help you cope with the eventual sweep come October!!

amen bhawks...god am i sick of sox fans tryin to make futile attempts to make their team relevant in not only this city but this nation as a whole...they sit there and tell themselves that obama is a sox fan and they won one of the least televised world series in history and think that people care...bottomline is the cubs have realized the huge big market potential and will continue to max that out by puttin together great teams as the **** will continue to toil with guys like brian anderson in cf and josh fields at 3b...listen, lightening never strikes the same place twice and unfortunately, you guys already got struck last year, stop writin on our boards, were better than you...better team, better stadium, better fans, better owner (now), better manager, o ya, and we have jobs, but hey, the sox get to see their hat featured in rap videos of rappers from compton cuz theyre that ghetto...thats pretty cool i guess
You can't be serious when you say Wrigley is a better stadium. Better neighborhood perhaps, but stadium? No way.

The NL Central isn't that great.

But what would you call a division where the Minnesota "We'll trade you Santana for, um, nothing" Twins can compete? Putrid?

Uh, no. If you really look at Wrigley, it's covered in rust and cracks. Please be honest in your assessments, don't just parrot what an old drunk told you 10 years ago.
