First place! They need to keep the pressure on the Phils and Marlins by taking care of business against the Nats and Pirates this weekend.

Some may say not to get excited it's only the national. But lets not forget that the Mets have made a habit of playing down to the competition. That not being the case in this series may bode well for this team.

The Nats and the Marlins were the Teams that beat the Mets last September when they end up losing a 7 games lead with 17 games to be play.
The Mets question mark is still the same one.,; their bullpen

Sure the pen gets a 12 run cushion and can't use that opportunity to give up 6 runs, they have to do it when they have a 2 run lead.

It is good to see the Marlins and Phillies pen failing them lately though.

Should I buy a new mansion next year or buy two season tickets for CitiField (TM)?
Well I looked at the prices they published for new Citi Field and here are your choices:
1. Buy an 8 bedroom, 4 bath, 7,000 foot estate home in the Hamptons on 3 acres with ocean views.
OR
2. 4 tickets to the new Citi Field behined 1st or 3rd base parking not included.
(But this is a bargain, because in the New Yankee stadium you'll only be able to get 2 tickets for this price.)

What makes you think with Wagner coming back we'll be ok. He has been failing quite a bit lately. Have you forgotten the balls being hit over the fences? WE know what we have and it doesn't bode well for the stretch run.As for Heilman, I think Manuel has finally gotten the point on him. We won't see much of him in critical situations anymore. At least I hope so.

The next 7 games are against teh Nats, Pirates and Braves.

If the Mets can't go 7-0 or 6-1 they will torture us again in September.

More negative baloney from so called Mets fans and Newsday....boring.

I thought the Mets won 12-0. And most of the garbage here is about 2 days ago and over priced tickets.
Sure Citi Field will be expensive. But still cheaper then the new Yankee stadium and Jets/Giants PSL mess. SO if you can't afford it, don't go. You should start complaining about the monthly internet provider fee too. The radio is free go listen there.

. I think you'll see the Wagner of the 1st half where he was dominant, obviously he was pitching while injured

There was once a time in baseball where a team was judged by the entire body of work over the season. One bad game here, one good game there meant nothing. Each game wasn't so closely scrutinized. There was one or two articles about the game and you moved on. You have to feel sorry for these mgrs of today where every bad game is the end of the world and every good game is the beginning of a magical run. It's exhausting following baseball these days.

Hey Lou, something tells me the last time you visited Shea, the boxes were still $10 and they had general admission for $2.75.

Well, this division is there for whoever is going to take it. Looks like we are "struggling" right into first.
I'll tell you what; if we survive this gigunda bullpen slump in 1st place, if Heilman-Schoenweis-Sanchez-etc ever calm down fully, and get, lets say "halve-assed" dependable, some really good things 'could' happen.'Could'.
The hottest team in Oct becomes the world champ. Not always the best.
