'It's Orioles magic'

Full story: Baltimore Sun

The Orioles' starting pitcher clearly lacked his best stuff and admittedly spent most of five busy innings last night in damage control mode.

Had a chance to see Albers and J. Johnson pitch for the first time - very impressive. The O's are starting to go back to the future by allowing promising young pitchers to pitch in relief to get their feet on the ground at the major league level. This is a very good sign for the O's. Hopefully we can get H. Penn going but if not, it appears we have a pretty good stock pile of your arms in the minors.

Now let's continue to focus on finding some promising young hitters at 1st, 2nd, and SS.

GO O's!!!

They forgot to mention one of the main reasons the O's won last night--sheer luck! How many times did the Nats hit the ball hard, only to have it go right to an O's fielder? When you're losing, that's what happens, and right now the Nats are losing.

You have to like this team. It doesn't quit. Unlike last year, the game's not over when the other team scores first. It still needs some bats, but you can see the beginnings of a good team.

The Nats just took three out of four from the Mets, including a 1-0 pitchers duel. They lost because they ran into the Orioles, not because "they are losing."

Melvin Mora has been the heart and soul of this team since he got here. I remember his 2-out, bases-loaded bunt single in the tenth inning to beat the Yankees last year. Also, I remember him getting thrown out of the game for screaming at the umpires for letting another game against the Yankees continue in a torrential downpour until Derek Jeter hit the go-ahead single. If Trembley wasn't such an excellent manager, I would want Mora to be player-manager.

Putting the smiling bird back on the hats is a lot more important than putting "Baltimore" back on the road jerseys.

O's win again and there is NOTHING about it at both the ESPN and FOX sports sites! They have headlines about Girardi being named an All-Star coach, and about the Merts having a closed door fist-fest, but zilch on the O's winning thier 4th straight.
What a couple of crappy, pro NY and Masshole agancies!

Ok oriole fan 4 posts out of 11 you are starting to get out of hand again. Look we are better off without coverage, just keep playing good ball and keep winning. We will just fly underneath the radar. One game at a time , good pitching and good defense. The base running however on this team stinks and the overall hustle running after they hit the ball really needs to be addressed.

Haha. Still in hiding, eh Randy? Another great win by the Birds. I'll be there tonight cheering them on to another victory. It must be killing you Randy that the team is still playing well and you can't come on here complaining that the bullpen is overworked and going to collapse. Become a Nats fan and you'll have plenty to complain about.

Your team is going to lose to BOTH Pittsburgh, AND the Colts, so you'll have plenty of time to be "hating" both teams.

That wasn't sheer luck; that was a successful execution of fundamentals. I would like to think that the Orioles actually read the scouting reports and made appropriate pitching & defensive adjustments.

It doesn't help the Stiffs that its infield now look mighty vulnerable with two of its three most important players (Belliard & Johnson) on the disabled list. They should be thankful that Zimmerman is still healthy. The defense of its outfielders (Milledge, Pena, Dukes & Kearns) is highly suspect.

The toughest pitcher the Orioles will face this weekend is Lannan tomorrow, Flores should actually be the starting catcher, and Acta is doing a good job despite managing in the Nation's Crapital.

But enough sympathy for those devils. Let's Clobber 'Em! GO ORIOLES! No Prisoners!
