Be Patient?!? We will elect a woman president before the Cubs wins the World Series!!!

I've been saying it all along- Show Lowe the money, and show Dempster the door. Get us a guy with some stones and a proven record in the post-season, and get rid of a one-year wonder who completely choked in the biggest game of the year.

Guess what Jim, the bulk of us Cub fans don't care anymore . . . you'll see that when the attendance and ratings roll in. We've had it and we're moving on to other things.

Get Lowe, do a blockbuster with the Padres for Peavy, Gonzalez and Green for DP-Lee, Theriot, Cedeno, Pie, Marshall, and even Hill, and maybe a minor leaguer. There. Done. Gosh I'm good.

Be patient? That's funny. Good one Jim.

I have been going to Wrigley for 30 years. In my humble opinion, the Cubs will never win a WS as long as they play at Wrigley -- It doesn't matter how much money they spend or which players they acquire.(And I love Wrigley).
That being said, they should take a loss, acquire Peavey, Roberts, and a half dozen other big-ticket players -- no matter the cost -- even if only to prove my earlier point. Sadly they can't and won't. I'm fairly sure that I will never see the Cubs even get to the WS in my lifetime. |

This is somewhat hard to explain, but I truly believe that if the Cubs played in some emotionally desolate stadium, say some massive new structure where "the-fans-sit-500-yards-f rom-the-field", they'll have a shot a winning the NLCS.
Until then, it'll be a matter of free-agent based other teams playing in an emotionally detached atomosphere and winning vs. playing in an emotionally-charged, hometown ballpark and losing. In other words, to enough of a degree, the fans and the intimacy of Wrigley will forever keep the Cubs lovable, losing, and forever hopelessly so. |

Get over the Wrigley thing already. Focus on the fact that Hendry puts teams together that look good on paper, but lack players that play with any passion, desire or emotion. |

Hmmmmm, be patient. Let me see .... "Be patient." Gee, I never thought to do that! After waiting nearly one lifetime, it never occurred to me to "Be Patient." These big-time general managers, they know this stuff, you see?!? They have their fingers on the pulse of what's really important. And, what's most important is for us fans to fork over our money, shut our mouths, and "Be Patient."

Be patient. I am not even a huge fan, but it is in no way fair for managment to ever aks cubs fans to be patient. Ever.
I think that ALL Cubs fans who regularly attend the Cubs Convention in January should boycott the envent this year. It would send the Cubs organization and players a message that fans want results and do not want to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. Enough! |

I'll take Peavy or Lowe in replacement of Dempster. I actually like Dempster though. He seems like he loves being a Cub. I know he stunk it up in the post season, but these guys dont go out there trying to lose these games. I love all the Cubs players....but if we're going to get some decent returns, I wont mind seeing a trade.

Don't worry. Lou will quit before his contract is out. It's his MO. The media is starting to turn on him a bit and many of the fans have and that isn't acceptable to Lou. |

"Be Patient" Did he say "Be Patient?"....I thought that's what he said. He's kidding, right?

Like all SERIOUS Cub fans, I am still losing sleep over that horrible division series but to say that we stunk offensively isn't a fair statement based on the numbers we put up in the regular season. I know that the post season is all that matters but we didn't show up for that, plain and simple. All Cub fans need to take a step back and remember the season that they gave us. This is not an endorsement on how terrible the team represented us in the playoffs and I am not letting them off of the hook, I am a mad lifetime Cub fan, I am simply saying that the numbers we produced in the regular season can't be ignored. We can not develop Yankee mentallity and think that putting together a team of high dollar free agents is the way to go. Tampa is an example of what young hungry players can do. Hendry needs to stop signing players that have moved on past their best seasons, case in point is Sorriano. He will never be a 40/40/40 guy again and therefore doesn't warrant the money that he received. It is an ugly business but at the end of the day the players need to get it done on the field during the BIG game. We are not that far off from where we need to be and we need to think of the basics for any successful team and that starts with the lead off hitter, that changes the dynamics of every team and how the rest of the line up approaches their at bats. We will be solid enough to compete with anyone in pitching, we need a lead off hitter to get things started offensively!!!

Be patient? What do you call 101 freakin years?

63 yrs since the last ws at wrigley. be patient. i will be patient until 2015. if robert zemekis is wrong then i will will some more.

here is an idea. i don't know if he plans to continue pitching but maybe hire greg maddux as a pitching coach. train up a new generation of minor leaguers who can pitch the corners. this is important as the plate seems to be at least 6 inches wider per side after seeing the umps calls in the play offs.
i wonder if hendry has a computer program like the one jerry krause had which tracks player stats per game and season. maybe he can find some players who have a heart. have a sense of urgency about winning in the play offs. the scary thing is andy mcphail is still on the cubs payroll and as long as rex is our quarterback the bears get off the bus running. |
