I don't see Kendrick doing well in a relief role - and I don't think the Phils want him there either. I think it's more likely that he may be part of a possible trade. The Phils appear to to have largely forgotten about (or given up on) Kendrick, who should have been one of the first ones called up when their pitchers started going down.
It's a shame - he showed some real promise as a starter before really coming unglued late last year. Despite a strong year at AAA and his obviously high potential, the club has apparently decided he doesn't fit in their future plans.
