While the Cubs are only 4 games out, if they're going to lose games like this, it might as well be 20. You make up ground in the standings by winning games your supposed to lose, but this team has lost too many games they were supposed to win.

This team is a disaster.

You know you are in trouble when Marmol loses it.

Well, that's 4 pitchers ruined by this team; Prior, Wood, Zambrano and Marmol. Who is Next???

Wells needs a trade as soon as possible to a team that can use a guy with a 1.67 ERA and ZERO wins. Even though it doesn't show I am pretty sure Gregg has been involved in at least 2 or 3 of those loses not just today.

Do the Cubs have the worst Bullpen in the Majors? It's got to be close.

Any way, this team wasn't serious before the season started and they have a very uncanny chemistry about them that will lead to more and more loses.

This is Lou's team! Let him figure this out! I wonder who he's gonna blame for this loss as he always has a great excuse each time this so called team of professionals blows a game. Kevin Gregg should not be the closer, every time he comes in he has a 30 pitch outing to get a save. Second I'm glad Hendry's efatuation with Heilman has payed off. For once I want to hear Lou say he doesn't no how to manage. Who takes out a pitcher because he gives up a homerun. Wells only had 80 plus pitches. With the teams Lou has had Dusty Baker could have done a better job. Well in my book Dusty is still a better manager because he won 6 playoff games while Lou is 0 for 6.

Just another typical "Cubbie" loss tonight. What a pathetic franchise, going on 101 years without a World Series title and, what, 64 years without winning the NL pennant.

I love it.

I will no longer subject myself to this abuse! Tonight was my last Cub game of the year. After watching this kid pitch his ass off only to see these spoiled, overrated bums blow his first Major League victory AGAIN has convinced me to quit wasting my time. The "Cubby Swagger" from last year has turned into the Cubby Dagger that this group of overrated, overpaid professionals sticks in the backs of the fans more times than I care to recall.Good Luck with the rest of the season but I've tuned out.

How does Heilman not walk Larry Jones? Aaron's awful against regular lefties.

Chicago Cubs, mediocrity has become thy name. The question is who is going to light a fire under this team? Lou "the self- proclaimed calmest guy on the team" no longer has it in him. Is Larry Rothchild helping or hurting this team? So far Marmol is worse than last year, Rich Hill is back and suddenly found his stuff again- on another team- and the Cubs have one of the most unreliable bull pens in the NL. This team lacks baseball fundamentals (can't advance runners or steal bases), lacks hustle and appears to be just going thru the motions. I have watched most of the Cubs games this season and I'd have to say this has been some of the most boring, lackluster baseball I've watched in my entire life as a devoted Cubs fan.

How in the world do you throw a 92 mph fastball right down the middle of the plate to a guy who would swing at just about anything. what a dumb pitch.

I finally have spit out the kool aid and I am admitting that this team is not going anywhere. They have a kid that is truthfully showing All Star stuff and its being wasted. If I were Wells I would ask for a trade.

This was a huge defeat to Cubbie morale, but tomorrow is another day. If it was a Bear loss, we would have to ponder it all week long. I still have to wonder why Lou would allow Chipper Jones (braves best hitter) to beat them in the 12th when it was totally unnecessary to pitch to him. That was just horrible thinking in that situation. Sometimes I wonder if "Lou has a clue" any longer.

Hey "sweet lou", where did "u" learn to write and spell? It's BELIEVE, not BELEIVE. Also, nice punctuation by leaving out the apostrophes all over the place.(Do you know what an apostrophe is?)

Just another typical stupid Cubbie fan. Go get drunk at Wrigley Field on the next homestand, dude.

Ty Welke, I totally agree. I thought that any smart manager would have intentionally walked Jones right after the guy on first stole second. Not only do you not pitch to their best hitter, but you put the force out in play for third and second base. Bad move by Alzheimer Lou.

They actually traded R.Cedeno and G. Olson for Heilman, but at this point who really cares?

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Libra

Don't put yourself through anything that isn't absolutely necessary, Libra. After all, why cook when others will gladly serve you at their house, or treat you to a wonderful meal at your favourite restaurant? Even when you assert yourself, there seems to be a wonderfully passive quality to your manner. Now that the universe has finally decided to give you some of what you want, make sure your wish list is short and don't be greedy.
