Wagner blows another save as Mets fall to D-Backs

Full story: Newsday

Come to think of it, Armando Benitez wasn't all that bad. You know, Braden Looper still is a valuable pitcher.

Same old formula....great starting pitching, lousy bullpen, meager offense. The other variation is lousy starting pitching, brilliant bullpen, meager offense. There are other variations too, but they all end with no offense, no situational hitting, and the inability to drive runners in.

As much as I hate to finally admit it, this is a .500 ball club...period. They will not be in contention for anything this year.

Wagner proved last September that when the going gets tuff he doesn't respond. Just when the Mets need him to help right the ship he comes up empty. Maybe Ollie Perez needs to get in his face.

why are pitchers taken out of a game when they are doing OK. When was the last time a pitcher had a complete game.

Did anyone see the postgame interviews with Wagner and Randolf. Maybe it's me but didn't it seem like they both were on the verge of crying. Feeling sorry for oneself is not the answer. Determination and grit is. Willie needs to show some backbone and challange or call-out a few players. Except for Heilman who is finished in ny, or Delgado who really should retire, this team could work or at least be better than what they are now. Yeah,I agree. Does anyone teach on this club, like maybe teaching Castillo how to play small ball again or Wright how not to swing for the fences in pressure situations. Maybe the answer is to dump the entire coaching staff, manager and all, and hire guys who are not afraid or intimided by these guys. Either way, obviously, something has to be done.

The guy's been in the majors for over ten years. It's not the manager's job to teach his players how to play the game. I wish I was wrong, but it's obvious that Wagner is washed up. And Heilman should be dropped like a hot potato.

The New York Mess. It has been very entertaining to watch this trainwreck of a baseball "team" since the start of last September. The team is so old its funny. You knoe theyre gonna lose its only matter of when and how.

Ummm...one problem. He throws right over the middle like he's playing pool. Any major league player can smash a fastball.

The guy just plain sucks.

Ah you loyal(???) Mets fans are amusing! The guy is one of the best closers in the game but you're ready to run him out of town over a couple of bad outings!

The other day when they won after giving up a lead there were 26 comments...today there are 19...the MET fan has given up on this team...it's only June and already we just don't care ...best thing about the MET's is that I haven't bought any tickets, nor will I. I can spend the money on gas.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Leo

Why are you still fighting, Leo? Everyone else went home a long time ago, but you're still here pounding your fists on the table. Although you don't want to admit it, accepting defeat may be your most practical option at this point. Sometimes it's just easier to move on than to keep up the fight. When you're forced to restructure, at least you have a chance to redefine. YouÕl get the opportunity to start with a clean slate, so use it to your advantage.
