Why not? O's rally again

Full story: Baltimore Sun

Before Kevin Millar stepped into the batter's box and delivered the hit that sent the Orioles to another thrilling victory, manager Dave Trembley yelled from the dugout to get the first baseman's attention.

looks like Orioles Magic is back! I think Andy knows what he is doin'...It is a bit early, but this team is something special I believe. It has heart and it has talent. Why not the O's? This is the kind of team that reminds me of the old school Birds of '79 with the way the come from behind and support each other every night out there whether they are in the lineup or not. The manager has alot to do with that and I think this Trembley is going to be an outstanding manager in this league when it is all said and done. I like what he says, his approach to the game, and the attitude he has created on his club. Outstanding job. All we need to do is add one or two big bats to the lineup to bolster the offense a bit and those young arms we got will get us through the storm. I am excited about Orioles baseball this year and I have not felt this way in a long, long, time. Good job boys!

How often have I read "I'll take two out of three any day?" It started when we took two of three from the Yanks, and has seemed to happen about 300 times since then. Let's go for THREE OUT OF THREE!

By the way, what are "They Saying" about the Birds throughout the league? It's been almost a week since I've seen that article, correct?

I just looked at the Poll question about grading Trembley's performance to date. I cannot believe that there are 813 people who have graded him an "F". What are these people looking at and what did thyy expect from a first year manager? I think these people should read up on and learn the ins and outs of baseball before making, what I'm sure they think is, an informed
judgement.

You beat me to the punch. I guess that shows that there are 813 idiots in Baltimore that know nothing about baseball. What do you want to bet that Ghost Oriole and Randy are two of the 813? Either that or they are Yankees and Red Sox fans.

Another great game last night. I said from the first pitch that Guthrie had no hit stuff. He hung to one slider to Berkman and that was really the only bad pitch he made. How did the Indians ever give up on this guy?

Watching O's games this year is so enjoyable in spite of the terrible play by play by Gary Thorne. I've never seen a play by play guy miss so many pitches. He can't tell the difference between a damn changeup and a curveball.

For a team picked for last place all around the majors, their showing how baseball is supposed to be played, as a team. Basic fundamentals, and having fun. I gave them hope when they rid the team of a few cancers. Of the guys we traded for, how many have produced this year? Orioles are quietly winning games, staying below the radar. I hope they keep this nucleus of players to establish a foundation and bring Oriole baseball back to town. Go O's Your right 813 constant complainers obout everything! They'll hate the Ravens coach the first day of camp, even though they asked for Billicks head. Never satisfied. A**Clowns!

Most likely the 813 idiots who gave Trembley an "F" are trolls from other cities like Boston or New York who do not like the Orioles. I honestly don't think 813 people in the Baltimore area gave those grades, maybe some but not all.

I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem like there's a lot of consistency with "What They're Saying". I tend to just look at power rankings on ESPN, FoxSports, and CBSsportsline, but I like how the article condenses it for me.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like "they" ever have the right things to say about the Birds. This team has a tremendous amount of heart and I think they can beat almost anybody right now.

Tough to catch the Bosox, but why not the WC? If we can hang around through July, hope the F O decides to make a run for it. On second thought, why not beat out the Bosox?? Post-season is definitely on the radar screen.

I've been at the Yard for the past two games, and Orioles Magic has definitely returned. There is no quit on this team, and they play hard. Regardless of record or standings (this is still a rebuilding year), that's all I can ask for. This has been one of the most exciting teams in a LONG time.

It all starts with Trembley too. The poll on the Sun has to be rigged because there's no way any Oriole fan could say Trembley is worth an "F" with a straight face.

I'll be headed back down to the Yard again tonight, and I'll be packing my broom. GO BIRDS!

I didn't realize that I had voted 813 times. I thought I quit at 800.

Uh oh. Delerious O's fans are talking playoffs while the team is in 4th place in their own division.

I'm stunned that this collection of castoffs is keeping their record around .500. It's against the odds, that's for certain.

Yes O's fans.....things are certainly nice now......very exciting baseball in Baltimore......but I'm getting that uneasy feeling......look at those damn Yankees.....they are getting hot.....while the O's are winning these one-run games.....the Evil Empire is starting to kick butt.....and the Nation is doing well also.....I hate seeing those two up on top again......

Keep going O's.....ya gotta stay tough....it is truly a long season

Bill K,

Who cares? I think every single O's fan out there is just dying to have us around the .500 mark. That right there shows us that something is happening. Who cares if the Yankees are moving along? We are rebuilding and look where we are. If we go past .500 and make a run for the WS, then we have gone way past all expectations. Right now, all the Orioles are doing is giving their fans some games that they'll always remember. I have not missed a game this season. I've either watched them, attended them, or listened to them and I can't turn them off.

I was at last nights game and I must say I felt good! Seeing all those ORIOLES fans was amazing. Everyone was decked out in orange and they were screaming for all the players. Baseball is back in Baltimore and the fans are finally starting to notice it.

Another super outing for Guthrie and no decision ? There must be some overt way to give him more credit for this kind of stuff .How about crocheting some baseballs on his cap like they do in college footbal :-) Actually , I don't think that is such a good idea even for football .Everybody winds up with a gazillion stars on their helmet so it's all meaningless , and it emphasizes individual rather than team accomplishment ?

I like how Luke Scott said it always feels good to hit a homerun when you're one run down and didn't mention anything about it being against his old team. Classey.

Ghost Oriole= Ignore

He said in April of this year: Cal Ripken didn't care about winning. That Cal Ripken was insubordinate. That Cal Ripken was a selfish player. I can deal with negative fans and most of the time understand their frustrations but he is pure hater fan and to be ignored.

By the way the Orioles are ranked #13 on CBS Sportsline updated 6-18. That is up 3 spots from last week.

" We really have little explanation for how long they have stuck around the .500 mark. Manager Dave Trembley has done more with less than almost any manager in baseball."

YES, some positive national press!

I agree with jennifer, the only goal the O's need this year is to have O's fans back in Baltimore like in the old days. That's why they are playing good baseball and staying about .500 right now. The O's proved everyone that they are not the worst team in MLB this year, instead its the Seattle Mariners. You can tell that O's are no longer an easy team to beat.
