WHY didn't Hendry go after Joe Beimel?? He's a badass and would've been huge for a STILL suspect bullpen w/ NO reliable lefty...

With the injury to the Boston player, Derrek Lee now has an opportunity to lead the United States to glory in the World tournament. Rather than playing for the Cubs on Friday, our country has called and Derrek Lee should answer the bell. A World Championship only comes around once every 3 years, he can always play in the domestic league.

Think Woody might be missed? Duh Tommy boy.

What is more important, getting ready for your team and your fans to win a World Series, or playing for your country in a series that means nothing?

Cubs need help in the bullpen for middle relief.

I certainly didn't like the acquisition of Jose Viscaino, and am not a bit surprized that he's not working out. Chad Gaudin is another one, who has not shown a thing since coming over in the trade with Harden. It's almost hard to believe that this guy was good enough to have been a part time starter there in Oakland.

I've been hollering all off-season that i've not understood Hendry's moves that he's made this off-season. I don't think he made any improvements at all, and for a team in which i see a possible two year window left, i'm really dissapointed that the Cubs decided to go the cheap way out. Obviously, the new owner appears to have come into play from a financial aspect; however, i'd think if an owner felt he wasn't going to be able to afford to make the purchases needed to obtain that elusive championship, then perhaps he shouldn't have threw his hat in the ring.

Cub fans are desperate, and we want an owner which is desperate as well.
