Nope, I think the Twins got him to throw slower like they did with LeTroy

These two carry a lot of weight on the Twins so I hope that they do indeed rebound. A little r&r between now and Spring Training might do them both some good. Now, exercise Cuddyer's contract option, sign Mauer for the long-term, and secure an ace for the starting pitching rotation and we've got pennant dreams for 2010!

Should it surprise anyone that most of the "blown" calls are going in favor of the Yankees? Shades of the Lakers/Kings playoff when the NBA wanted the big name team in the finals and not some boondock wannabees who nobody outside of Sacramento cared about. All this stuff about "honest" mistakes and unfortunate "bad calls" is just wafer-thin cover for the fact Major League Baseball wants the Yankees in the World Series and is willing to sacrifice the integrity of the game to make sure it happens.

It's so true...television networks and their sponsors believe that they can make a lot more money with the Yankees nationally than they can with the Twins, especially since the play-offs and World Series need to compete with the NFL regular season. A Yankee/Dodger World Series would have been ideal. There were probably a few disappointed mult-millionaires out there, and they weren't all Dodger fans.

I'm getting disgusted with the umpires in baseball and the refs in pro and college football. Things have gotten worse with the "favorites" getting so many questionable calls to make sure they make the point spread. Something stinks. I can't watch any of these staged games anymore. Did the WWE/WWF rub off on other professional sports? I think so.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Leo

If you're worried about running up big debts in what is usually one of the most expensive months of the year, start keeping a running total of how much money you've spent so far. You might have to restrict the amount you spend on Christmas presents, or make other savings in order to stay within your budget, but you realize the folly of ending up severely out of pocket.
