The longer he goes without hitting one out, the more pressure he's going to put on himself. Plus, Red Sox "haters" are saying he isn't hitting HR's becuase he was on roids. He just needs to relax...try to go the other way...he doesn't need to pull it and knock it out in right. The one "positive" thing is that even without Papi hitting HR's and Manny gone, the Sox continue to win....for those "haters" who think the Sox can't win without Manny, they've proved they can win without Manny AND Papi.

Too fat .... aging ahead of his time .... can't get around on a good fastball .... misses the protection he had from Manny.

I'll agree with the too fat and aging...I won't buy the misses Manny....look how well Youk has been hitting this season until he got hurt. The Manny thought doesn't have any "weight" behind it. |

Another missing the protection post: Youk is "protecting" this season he has better numbers than Manny."protecting" is BS anyway statistics don't support it. Papi just needs to pull it together; a clutch RBI here a HR there, but no longer in the 3 spot. |

I believe there are a number of things contributing to the slump
1) a regular slump 2) the steroids issue 3) He doesn't have his best friend anymore... baseball is probably less fun than it was, no one to play off of anymore 4) He's getting older and the weight is taking a toll on him but who really knows but Papi, himself |

It is time to bench him and either use Varitek on his off days or Balderelli or Drew to rest them from the field.

Papi needs treatment for this mental hitting disorder(MHD) he is going through right now. I went through it when I played T-Ball as a kid. Some medication and presto! I was back to hitting 400.
