The Tribe has 3 [Closer, 3B, LF], maybe 4 [Will CC figure himself out?]holes to fill in the swiss cheese of a team before this team can even think about contending for the playoffs. It doesn't take 40 games to know the first 3 are needed now. The problem is Dolan the Cheap hasn't given Shapiro the money to work them out over the offseason and here we are today - in 4th place trailing the Sox.

What is wrong with CC? Pretty easy to figure out just like it was during the playoffs and like it was in early 2006. He continues to try and throw his fastball THROUGH the catcher. He needs to take something off that pitch to improve his control and increase the movement on the ball. When he is 93-94 on the fastball, he is awesome. Any time I have ever seen him 95-97, he is throwing a batting practice pitch that he either can't control or that batters just hammer. Ease it up, CC, the ERA will plummett!

The 40-game rule just gives Shapiro more time but, even when the requisite number of games have been played, other teams aren't necessarily going to be as eager to make deals as the Indians are likely to be. Contending teams usually start thinking about patch-and-fill deals at about the halfway point, not when it's convenient for the Indians (or any other team that isn't happy about how their players are performing). So, what Shapiro is really talking about at the 40-game mark is bringing players up from Buffalo or, in very few instances, Akron.

Install Francisco in Left and leave he and Gutierez in the starting lineup. The Tribe can make an argument for having the best starting rotation in baseball,so when the bullpen is figured out,consistant winning will start.
Only question: What does Wedge do for 6 weeks in spring training every year ? |
