Why are the Twins so set on having two lefties in the bullpen? With the knuckleball, Dickey is something of a neutral in matters of lefty/righty match-ups. Duensing hasn't sparkled in spring training and might be more of a liability than an asset if he really isn't ready for major league hitters. Didn't the Twins spend the first half of last season with only one lefty in the bullpen? Yes, it would probably bug a manager to know that he has only one lefty option in the bullpen, but the Twins don't seem to be too confident about Duensing, which is probably the reason they stuck it out for a long time trying to get Mijares back on track instead of sending him down sooner.

brachiosaurus,
You have got to be pretty pumped about the Twinks chances this season. A power upgrade at 3B (if Crede can stay healthy), and everyone else who matters is back, and with one more year of experience. Quality depth all around, except in the bullpen. Hopefully, Gardenhire and Anderson learned that you can't send Guerrier and Crain out there every other day and expect them to maintain their level of efficiency. Both simply got worn down, and I think Gardy knows it. Mauer is the big question mark, but Redmond always manages to hit fairly well, so I think we are ok there if Mauer's injury only drags on for a few weeks. Kubel is swinging a good bat and I think will have a big season. I think the Twins win the division by 5 games provided that Morneau and Nathan stay healthy. |

Hey Fracas,
You're right--the Twins, if everything works out as expected, have a great chance of winning the division and making the playoffs. The Twins will be fine with Redmond, and when Mauer comes back, they will be even better. Kubel may be poised to have the best season of his career. The bullpen is still a bit of a question. Guerrier really bombed last season but has looked very good in his past few outings. All in all, it should be an exciting season. The Twins themselves all seem to be very upbeat and positive going in. The killer instinct is there now, something that may have been lacking a bit towards the end of last season. |

The Twins have to keep them both even if it's to use Humber as trade bait. The team seems likely to carry an extra pitcher to open the season anyway, so why not?

We NEED to keep Humber!!! Don't pull a Doug Risebrough and loose the player for absolutly no compensation. Doug Risebrough is the worst GM in all professional sports!!
