Wow! After the way Freddie Garcia let the White Sox off the hook in the 162nd game, you'd think the WS would show a little more gratitude.
FG had the Sox' number, then he suddenly (I didn't say "suspiciously") pulled a back muscle. Detroit mgr Leyland was in disbelief. It doesn't surprise me that the Tigers didn't resign him after that stunt. FG seemed to be rooting for his ol' teammates with that move and his addition would be the best for addition for the price - you read it HERE (not from Phil Rogers) first. |

This could be the dumbest thing I've seen on these boards. I didn't think think that was even possible. |

"We would have included the Red Sox among the improved teams, but they still don't have a catcher. They appear inclined to let Jason Varitek walk and trade for his replacement, with Arizona's Miguel Montero and Texas' Jarrod Saltalamacchia at the top of the list.…"
Hey Phil, have you actually read the latest on the Red Sox and Varitek? Because as late as Friday that doesn't appear to be the case! http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp... |

Bring Freddie home. Our young guys might need some backup help.If his arm and shoulder can hold up the man is a pitcher.

Varitek made a bad decision turning down arbitration.
They need a veteran catcher to handle that pitching staff. Pudge Rodriguez? |

Bring back Sweaty Freddy!

maybe the white sox should explore the idea of bringing bobby valentine, into the organization.
ozzie and his show is getting boring, and maybe a new manager might bring the players, to a new level. |

No one is gonna give up a draft pick for Tek; hes too old and provides no offense--The Sox know this, Tek probably knows this its only Boras and the guy who wrote this article that dont know this.

Taylor Teagarden is the next Mike Piazza. He's got amazing power and fields great like Pudge in his prime. Epstein should really make a move for him if he is available. The Rangers traded one of their other potential you catchers in early December so that makes them less likely to give Teagarden. But, if Teagarden is available why not? He's better than Tek and has more potential than any young catcher in the league. Besides, he's got Bard behind him if he doesn't start off so well.Bard will probably get the starting job any way. If I were Epstein, I would put a lot into getting him. He will be great in the long run. And watch what happens if the sox don't pull it off. He's going to be fielding like Johnny Bench and will hit like Teixeira then the Rangers won't be able to pay him and he'll end up elsewhere. Teagarden is the best option for the sox.
