Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

DETROIT: It was a game in which the Indians' mastery was clearly in evidence. Through injuries and slumps, unexpected setbacks and disappointments, the Tribe has become expert at playing just badly enough to ...

I know this is a tough one to ask, but please stop interviewing Wedge. I have heard enough of the same-old same-old drudgery after each game. I think it would be nice every now and then to interview the Dolan's after each game and see what they have to say. I know Grump would love to hear that one.
I have given them the benefit of the doubt, but I cannot watch this team anymore. It is simply not entertainment to watch them play. I'll take a losing season hear and there, but for someone's sake make it at least interesting to watch.

I was never sold on Sower. He is too predictable and doesn't have command of the ball. Not many can be a finesse pitcher.

When are the Indians going to realize that the season is over? They kept saying that the turnaround must come within the organization. But they have proved yet again that they don't have anyone within who can do that. Please, spare us the agony.

OMG, now you go...

Peralta had the chance today with the bases loaded and blew it like he always does. The Tribe is now 8.5 games back and 7 games under .500 for the season. Starting pitching has two on the DL and is no longer the strength. The Tribe now has NONE. Except for Texas, the team is now in a 6-17 slump scoring less then 3 runs a game. Don't look for me at any games in the near future at Progressive Field. You all know what needs to be done to fix this team. I need not keep repeating myself. It won't be done.

How is it no longer the strength? Westbrook was not contributing anyways and Carmona will return.

The ERA of the pitchers that have started is only 3.73 which is pretty good. The loses are because no runs are being scored, not the starting pitchers.

The bullpen is awful, and don't expect Carmona to continue his low era much longer unless he expands his limited repertoire of pitchs and gains more control. The league will adjust to him.

For all those who were screaming to trade pitching to get a big bat, you'd beter think about this carefully. It takes years to get a decent pitching staff and you can see already that we are in BIG trouble without CC and Byrd next year, that coupled with an awful bullpen. I don't see any help down on the farm to shore up this problem. I think Westbrooke is valuable and if the surgery is successful, we will really need him big time in the future.

I cringe every time Carrol bats second. Can't we find a player in the oranization to lead off who can walk, bunt, or single from time so Sizemore and company can drive him in? It seems like they expect Sizemore to carry the whole team offensively and defensively. It's ridiculous.

Finally I keep seeing Wedge slouched with his arms wrapped around a dug out fence or sitting on the bench yawning. The way this team plays reflects exactly his demeanor. Layed back, and real nice. The team needs a manager that can get ugly and kick some butt.

Does it really matter anymore? The Tribe is 7 games under .500 and 8.5 games behind Chicago and in free fall to 100 losses. It's time to fire Wedge, trade CC for prospects, and give up on the playoffs for another 5 years as the team rebuilds. The Dolans do not spend enough money and you can't make the playoffs and win championships without doing that.

Yes, it does matter fair weather friend.

Besides, you clearly do not know what you are talking about saying the starting pitching is not a strength.

Considering the length of the season, you do not judge starting pitching on a couple of the most recent games. The stats show it is one of the few strengths of the team right now.

Mental Note: Though the Tribe bats could, LITERALLY, prevent Global Warming, don't bet against 'em when Lee is on 'da Mound! LOL!
