Derek, is a very fine player who impressed me the few times I saw him play. He stood out to me on a team that had some quality players. His quick hands as a hitter and fielder are very impressive. I think his hockey background helped along those lines. The best of luck to the kid and I hope he gets to play in the "Bigs" some day. I would pay to watch him play.

I think that Derek would be an ideal pick for a team like the twins. As a twins fan i know we need a stable middle infielder and Alexi Cassilla doesnt cut it. Derek has all the potential in the world, if we can develop him quickly i could see him easily being a starting 2nd baseman in the big leagues
