i like ramon as a backup, but i don't think he can play everyday for two or three weeks if need be. as for pudge, he wants to prove he can still play, so maybe a little motivation factor there. sign him for a year, that way he still has to work hard to prove he can play next year with another team.

With another good outing Pedro will move way in front of Pudge on the Mets radar. They can live with Castro as the backup. It's the 5th starter and another lefty in the pen which should be addressed first.

I-Rod isn't just an upgrade over Castro, he is also a huge upgrade over Brian Schneider, both offensively and defensively.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Virgo

You aren't fooling anyone - it's easy for everyone else to see that inexperienced people are unaware of their obligations, Virgo. You're grumpy about starting a familiar process from the beginning again, but don't let that get in the way of getting on with it. Sour grapes have no place in your daily dealings. Although you may 'own' a project, it's ultimately in the hands of someone else. Deal with it and then move on.
