Hideki Matsui

Matsui's homer in eighth gives Sabathia 3-2 win

Full story: Newsday

The Yankees are .500, and proud of it. How's that for a bizarro world? Considering where they were when this road trip began a week ago today, riding a five-game losing streak that had dropped them two games below .500, they certainly have reason to feel upbeat at 17-17 coming home.

CC struggled a bit but still pitched a real good game. He pitched 17 innings on this road trip and gave up 9 hits and 2 runs. That's more like the guy the Yanks went after last winter. Now it's home to take on the Twins, O's and Phils!
The offense struggled a bit but everyone contributed a little to make the win a team effort! There were some real good defensive plays as well!

Great job by CC and once again proof that Gardeners speed can make a huge difference! That's 2!

It's good to see CC warming up, and looking forward to seeing what he can do from here. Now it's time for AJ to be AJ, and we'll be good to go. Arod hit the ball much better last night, so he may be rounding into shape as well. And I am liking this Cavelli (?) kid behind the plate.

Yanks and Mets will get a good chance to help each other out next week playing each others rivals at the same time. Hoping for a Yankee sweep of the Phils.

As everybody was saying around baseball. The Jays, even though they have the best record in baseball, have not played the powerhouse teams yet. And the yankees showed them that it is easy to be up Balitmore and others. I just hope the Red Sox who are also feeling the early season injuries can win their series when they play the jays.

Cervelli has been great. The way he's been playing the Yankees haven't missed that Molina got injured as well. I've been really impressed how he works with the pitchers during the games, and the results they've been getting together.

Yes, I agree, he's been a very pleasant surprise! I'm not certain he could play at his present level for an extended period of time but he's certainly done his job to this point!

And that will be OK in the mind of John Henry. It's just awful for baseball when the Yanks get someone and he doesn't! But when he gets the big name, ie Dice K, then it's OK! Rumor has it he's negotiating to purchase the Boston Globe. I'll bet he'll really get good press then!!!!!

Yanks doing it today.
NY Times lost a packet on the globe; stupid to buy a print in the dawn of the electronic news age. Globe by far has the best sportswriters in the country. Sox leading in the 8th. with Jays yanks and Rays all up today its a must win.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Capricorn

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
